Dems would be shooting themselves in the foot if they tried to run a truly competitive primary this late in the game. You can't have all the other candidates bloodying Kamala's nose in late August and then turn around and have the party try to pimp her to voters as the best choice for America a week later.

I don't think so at all. It's easier to believe he has begrudging respect for Hillary, who tried to beat him and lost, than he does for Biden, who beat him fair and square and then made his life a living hell. I think Biden (the aforementioned) and Obama (black) are the two people he truly hates the most.

As for Kamala Harris, let us not forget that she ran one of the worst campaigns of all time before winding up on the ass end of a debate with Tulsi Gabbard and had to quit because she was going to finish behind Andrew Yang in California. There was no greater enthusiasm gap between media/party (same thing) and electorate in 2020 than hers--even darling Buttigieg could get votes. There was a resentment that she was the Chosen One despite the wishes of the people. Sneaking her in without a primary would only confirm what everyone knew all along: that the donor class sees her as a combination of Hillary and Obama, the human culmination of the Democratic Party, the person the entirety of American history has been building up to, except no one actually wants to vote for her.

He's negotiating. I would love to see him overcome Team Obama and the elite media again, but I don't think that's happening. He had the juice to swim against the tide in 2016 and 2020; I don't think he has it now, even with Bernie, AOC, and the elected balcks trying to save him.
