Dang, definitely one of the all time greats.

In college I had a professor that was a huge baseball fan and he would get distracted at times in class and go on these long rants. One of his favorite was going on a rant about how Rickey was the best baseball player to ever live and he had all these stats and examples. He would get super worked up about it.

Read the Howard Bryant biography on Rickey within the last year. Was not enamored with the book.

Rickey was always in phenomenal shape. Still was up till the day he died. Can’t believe it was pneumonia if it really was.

With all the other odd and unique things about Rickey, people overlook he had great post season numbers.
