God this sucks. I feel like he had more to do.

I had always held out hope for an Eraserhead sequel from him.

Legendary director, often imitated but never duplicated. He had a great range, and was always trying something new. RIP.

Man, that first season of Twins Peaks was great.

Even the beginning of the second season was good. ABC just started getting involved, forced them to resolve the mystery, and made the show write itself into a corner.

It's crazy that ABC was even the network that picked it up, as even in the CapCities days, they played it a lot safer than the other two (which, I will admit, was worth it; they never became a dumpster fire like CBS in the '90s or NBC in the '00s). Frost/Lynch needed that early-'90s Fox ethos of trying weird stuff and getting out of the way, but maybe the money wasn't there.

I believe it was Episode 8 of the third season that remodeled my brain. One of the strangest things ever put on non-public-access television and I loved every second of it.

Blue Velvet is one of those movies that stays with you. If I assess it through my normal filters: good story, a point, character development, acting quality, etc it comes up short. However, I still think about it from time to time, years after I last saw it.

The Windom Earle stuff and Billy Zane stuff was just plain stupid. Although funny seeing Leo like that.

He did for sure I would have done another film from him for sure and he had some projects in the hopper but he couldn’t breathe. He left a great catalog though. From music to art to film. Dude had a lot of work out there. Much to me personally like Bowie (who also died right around his birthday in January) they both left us with great catalogs of work. Can’t complain. Both will be talked about in the next generation maybe not as much but have the cultural impact that their works live on. I am making a twin peaks guitar right now and ordered the graphics the day before he passed. RIP Lynch.

I never saw Twin Peaks, but I thought his best film, apart from Blue Velvet, was The Straight Story.

It is pretty amazing and not what most consider a typical Lynch film.

I really wish he had done Empire Strikes Back when Lucas asked him.

He was in talks to create a series for Netflix. The best.

I'm not any kind of a pretend movie critic, but some of my friends that do fancy themselves as Roger Ebert always LOVED David Lynch. Never saw Twin Peaks, but yeah...Blue Velvet was great

I did not care for Wild at Heart at all, except for the Cousin Dale scene...this always cracked me up
