Maybe his greatest contribution to music history was prompting Morrissey to start a fan club for the New York Dolls, which led to him starting the Smiths.

That or "Hot Hot Hot" at weddings.

He hated that song. Seems that artists typically hate their most popular song.

That first New York Dolls album is pretty good, so is Johnny Thuders' So Alone.
