Bucks used to play in a real shithole in the early '80's. Me and my buddy went up there to see the Bulls headed by that idiot Paul Westhead. After the game the crowd walks by the Bucks locker room on the way out. No one is guarding it. We walk in like we own the place and hang our coats up and the first guy we see is Moncrief and then Bridgeman. Had a brief conversation with the boys and then got escorted out. I won't say who did the snitching, may he rest in peace. Hey, the door was open and all it said on it was Milwaukee Bucks Locker Room.

Early 80's would have been The Mecca as the Bradley Center wasn't built until 88. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee still uses it today but called UW-Panther Arena.

The Mecca had a great basketball floor. I feel like I read an article or saw something on YouTube about someone salvaging that floor and having it in storage somewhere.

Shaq was on TV last night and said that he patterned his post-playing business career after Bridgeman, and that Junior made the introductions for Shaq to get involved with Papa John's.

There's a great story about somebody calling into to a Milwaukee radio station lamenting that Junior was broke and reduced to working in a Wendy's. The host has to console the caller by explaining that Junior owned the Wendy's and many more of them.

 I wonder if Junior cleared that with Papa John beforehand. I guess Bridgeman’s group also own Valhalla golf club.

The Mecca has had a lot of work done on it and is pretty good condition--certainly much better condition than its demolished replacement. It's not as luxurious a renovation as what they did with the Inglewood Forum, but it seems to be a sturdy little AHL/mid-major barn. It looks better than I remember it from the Wisconsin Center days when all they really had was pro wrestling.

The Bradley Center? I can see that, yeah.

The Mecca was always just a squat little bomb shelter of a building.

I think a fan bought the Robert Indiana floor and has it stored in a warehouse.
