This in a small statement sums up the ignorance of Mike North and the people that continue to hire him.

Hawk might be one of the worst guys ever on the air. Yes, he can tell a good story, but if thats the job then just give me an interviewer and bring a different old timer every game to tell me stories.

As for the job he is paid to do, which is Play by Play he is just terrible. I am a Sox fan and he puts me to sleep. Sometimes I wonder if the MUTE button is on.

Hawk would be a good color man if he had a real play-by-play guy to work with, and I could say the same for DJ as well. Hawk can't carry a broadcast alone because he doesn't actually call the action like he's supposed to. He just sorta...says stuff during the game and spits out cliches and catchphrases. That's not a real commentator.

I really hope Stone finds his way onto Sox games next year. I'd love to see him and Hawk, and move DJ to the radio side. Wishful thinking probably.

Just my guess is that Stoney is not looking to travel and do games every single day.

I don't like Hawk or Stoney or any Cubs or Sox or Hawks or Bears announcers these days: they're all cookie-cutter boring. The only guy I like is Bulls voice Neil Funk.

Hawk is alot of things. Cookie-cutter is not one of them. There are no guys like Hawk doing MLB games.

Also Ron Santo is a lot of things. Cookie-cutter is not one of them. There are no guys like Ron Santo doing MLB games.

Rongey is not a lot of things, including cookie cutter.

it don't get much more cookie cutterish than Rong'ey.

But I understand he has bills to pay, thus does the job, no controversial statements (except for his comments on alien albino midgets) and he goes home.
