If they follow WGN's old schedule:

5:00 - 9:00: Bernstein and Drinky
9:00 - 12:00: Murph and Fred
12:00 - 3:00: Mulligan and Hanley
3:00 - 7:00: Boers and TBA

If they contine with the current schedule:

6:00 - 10:00 Bernstein and Drinky
10:00 - 12:00: Murph and Fred
12:00 - 2:00: Mike North (why they would bother is beyond me)
2:00 - 6:00: Mulligan, Hanley and Boers (trying to create their own Afternoon Saloon)

Why can't Murph and Fred do a 4-hour shift, midday? Afternoon show would be the "Young Sports Reporters" (not!)

A longer midday shift isn't a bad idea. Would you run it from 11-3, or 12-4, etc?

Oh, no. I'd run it 10-2. I don't want a Mike North presence. North can do pregames for the Hawks or something...

Hanley wouldn't be able to do that with his Bulls coverage, wouldn't he ?

Here's my thinking:

1. It's unclear whether the Score will go back to a traditional schedule (morning show, a 10-2 midday show, and afternoon drive). A WGN-style schedule would lengthen both midday shows by (and you would keep Mulligan and Hanley together and reunite Murph and Fred). North would be out in this scenario, with Boers left in afternoons to dribble with an undetermined figure.

2. If the two-hour shows continue, look for management to renew (unfortunately) North, sticking him in Murph's current slot. It would be easy to hide North in a two-hour slot, and Mike Tirico is as weak a competition as can be found. I can't see Murph in afternoon drive, so he would have to be in the 10 - noon slot. Thus Mully, Hanley and Boers would be stuck together.

Regarding Hanley, will he still even be at the paper? [No, I don't have inside information]

I don't quite understand how Hanley and Mully do that show, right now. You can tell, several times, that one or the other isn't at the studio. I'd imagine there are ISDN lines (broadcast-quality phone lines) extant at the Bull's and Bear's.

It seems to me that the show eats into Mully's time if the Bears practice in the mornings. Hanley's got the harder travel schedule...

In terms of show lengths, probably, your best quality would come from a 3-hour show. Do you want an extra team of on/off air talent, per 12-hour period?

We had more Score lineup proposals here than Cub lineup proposals in Dusty days.

That's never stopped Boers.
