I thought the interview with Piniella this morning was great. Lou seemed engaged and interested, and Mike asked good questions.

Thought the same about the Ozzie interview. I dont think he can take responsibility for being the first to say Contreras was mentally and physically poor last year, but I think it needed to be raised as it was a key problem last year, though the bullpen contributed equally.

North appeared to be somewhat prepared in the interviews.
He laughed over one of Lou's punch lines (about Dempster), and he cut the manager off a few other times in mid-sentence.
He kept the conversation going with some quality questions about the difference in the center field prospects and Soriano's health.
North tried using the Iguchi-Fukudome comparison, saying they're stats are about the same -- except with batting average.
Iguchi 18 HRs, 63 RBIs, .261
Fukudome 20 HRs, 71 RBIs, .305
Maybe that's why the comparison shouldn't be made.
As a whole, Mike did a decent job.
I wouldn't compliment him, because this is how he's supposed to do his job.
