I caught Mike & Fred this morning making their usual argument that drug abuse and alcoholism aren't diseases and quitting is just a matter of will power because after all, Mike quit drinking without seeing a doctor, etc. OK, fine, I don't want to get into a medical debate here, but then someone calls and says then why does Fred look like a water buffalo and why doesn't he just put down the fork? Fred yells at him and asks if the guy has seen him and he says he has and Fred's huge, to which Fred says the caller is full of crap. Fred than makes the argument that being overweight is different anyway because you have to eat to live, but you don't have to drink or do drugs to live. Huh? But, Fred, you don't have to OVEREAT to live.

If that was his argument, he is nuts. What someone should tell him is that weighing as much as he does, the fact he is at or near 50, he is asking for a bunch of medical issues. I met Fred years ago and just recently saw him a month or so ago, he is much heavier then he was 10 years ago.
