One question that has been lost in all of this discussion: If Greenstein did not write the e-mail, who did?

I would think that would be fairly simple for northtonorth.com to track down.

You could probably get an IP address and service provider but I don't know how easy/legal it is attach a person's name to it if there is nothing illegal being done. Might take a subpoena, but I might also be retarded.

Furthermore, I would imagine if Greenstein did not, in fact, send this email that it would be in his best interest to openly deny it and make light of the conclusions that were jumped to by North and his guys.

I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin.

The PHP Form Program does not track the Email or IP, it's just the field gets filled in.

I am quite sure anyone who has such a website would probably know that because they have got a few emails with fake email adresses if the form is required to be filled in.

I don't think the question is who sent it in, the question is how it was discussed and believed by Mike & Co. or how it was ignored as to the fact it was probably not real.

Yeah, but can't you look at the time of the post and the webserver log time to get the IP?

That's easy. How many non-programming folks know how these things work? You expect Be knows? Mikey? Think either of them read the manual for PHP Form? One thing about this board is, there is a contingent of techies here. We don't talk much tech here, but we know alot.

No, but it's easy enough to record the IP from the open socket, if you've a mind to, and want to waste database space with the info.

That's why I laugh at KS: there's a patch for this board to track IPs and if you really want to know who's posting as who, install that
