Best Ep and his show was still a train wreck. What does that say about him?

What an ingrate.

Jen, do you realize that your femininity is the only reason you got Pappy's attention in the first place? Do you honestly think he got you an internship cuz he thought you'd be a good producer? Do you think that's why he made you EP an News women? What, cuz of you broadcasting skills? Because you were a great journalist? Is that what you think, Jen?

Yes Jen, you owe most everything to Pappy - not the Score. Still, it was the Score that let you be news women and EP without being qualified.

The Score gave you an option to stay employed. I think, based on that Score's post Pappy salary offer and your new role, you should kinda get the idea that Pappy was the only one that thought you had talent.

They wanted you to book guests Jen. I guess you're right. That is highly offensive to a women with your skills. Man, is she delusional. She thinks she's a star.

How ironic. Jen being offended. She was offended that the Score wanted her to use her femininity when that was the exact thing Jen used on Pappy when she met him at Gibsons. Got you a job, Jen. Now, you're offended.

I believe it's pretty easy for Columbia students to get internships. It's a great school and the job pays nothing. How hard can that be?

She earned the reputation as one of the hardest working producers in the business.

Who can attest to her reputation? Maybe one of our media friends can check in. Mac? Teddy G? Her reputation is strictly something in North's mind.

She was going to ballgames when she didn't have to; she was out doing appearances, helping out, bringing in endorsements.

Going to ballgames for free? What a sacrifice!
Doing appearances? She gets paid for those.
Bringing in endorsements?
Like Zed451 and that energy drink? She gets paid for those, too.

They just wanted me to use my femininity to go to the ballparks to get players to come on the shows.
And I think my Rolodex alone was worth more than what they were offering me.

How did she build that Rolodex in the first place?
Could it have been by using her femininity to go to ballparks to get players to come on the show?

Any writer who can print the kind of lies that MN spouted for that interview cannot be taken seriously.

The woman who wrote this article should be fired, it is clear she did not background on the facts on Norths show and jens "impact" on it.

Jen can make her own choices, but she is going to regret her choice on this when it comes to her career or I guess lack of one now. Pappy also should be ashamed of himself, if he wants to destroy his career, thats one thing, but to bring a young kid down with him is just classless as it comes.

I have said it before, if Jen was 300 pounds, North never even gives her the time of day.

By the way, where is this rags-to-riches story, of Jen's, that the writer implied? The writer never explained that.

The story started with her at Colombia college. That's usually not the definition of "rags".

That's not my point. A 20-22 year old, in college, is not "rags". It doesn't mean you're rich but it certainly isn't rags. She was a college girl. Like thousands of other college girls.

Based on Jen's reaction to the Score's latest salary offer it sounds more like a "rags to rags" story. If, indeed, she was "rags" to begin with. I don't think she was. She sounds like a middle class girl from the Northern suburbs.

The point being, though Colonel; is that the article stated "rags to riches" and then said nothing about Jen working her way through school, struggling to make ends meet, etc. At least I'll give credit to Mike, as he did work his ass off running his hot dog stand. Working in food is hard work, especially places like that. Jen though?

Sorry, I don't feel for her after reading that story. She came across as an arrogant individual. Her "Rolodex" that was worth more? Check out her myspace page

http://www.myspace.com/jenjentheenginepatterson

And simply put, she's an attention whore and just because she talked/met these individuals, it doesn't mean SHE'S worth time and attention. She can't even update that thing with any regularity, as her last BLOG entry was two years ago at the Olympics. Oooh, you're up to date there Jen.

Look at Jen's myspace. It was no sacrafice, on Jen's part, going to ball games with a Score press pass. Look at how many pictures Jen Jen got with the ball players. She wasn't working. She was having the time of her life.

I'm serious, Jen should be embarrased by this piece. She's learning from Pappy. She thinks she's been wronged. Keep that attitude, Jen. See where that gets you once you can't ride Pappy's coat tails.

I don't think Jen realizes how many qualified women would have killed to get the chance she got at the Score. Yet, she doesn't even say thanks. She says "fuck you" to the Score on her way out.

Think of all of the 40-year old traffic broads in this town reading this article. What do you think is their reaction is to Jen's comments? This poor girl who lucked into being news women at the Score.

It just shows how smart she is burning bridges with the Score. She seems to forget that CBS, which owns the Score, owns many other radio stations throughout the country.

Her and Pappy must have brain stormed for days to come up with that "rolodex" comment, I am almost sure she said "rolex" and the daily herald edited it.

Good point Rodeo. That does sound like a line from a bad mafia movie. Pappy did teach her that line. No doubt about it.

Here is what Jen should learn: How easily replacable everybody is. Jen, you really had no talent. For a 26-year old girl to be on the muscle, after getting a chance to be a morning on-air-personality at a major market radio station, is horrible.

Don't follow Pappy's stupidity, Jen. He can afford to sling arrows. He's a 55 year old man who's financially secure.

You should show nothing but gratitude, Jen. You really got a lucky break without being qualified. Pappy got you in but the Score paid your salary. You say "thanks for the opportunity".

Agreed, Beardown. Agreed. It's a shame, because she could of become a good producer. Besides the standard "I appreciated the opportunity" line; the rest of the article made her come across as someone who believed she was above going back to move forward.

Look at Fred for example. Fred used to host the morning show with Murph. Now, due to this; he's an updater. But he also knows how difficult it is to get your foot in the door in radio, and that you can only trade on your past accomplishments for so long. Fred wanted to keep getting paid, to keep being paid; he'll have to take a step back and hope for a chance to move forward down the road.

Look at Rock. Rock came on here a few weeks ago and was saying how he was learning new skills and technical stuff (I can't remember the exact detail) that go on behind the scenes. I appreciated the fact that the Score was allowing him to do so; and using the opportunity that the station was providing.

Colonel Angus wrote:

Not just throughout the country, Colonel. Look at the Bernstien "roundtable" discussion on Friday. They own a good number just in this city alone.

Don't be too surprised that if North remains loyal to Jen, after reading her bitchfest in this article; that some stations might go, "We'll take you Mike, but that girl isn't a part of the deal."

North can overcome *some* of his arrogance, as he was popular and still has a loyal fanbase. Jen doesn't have enough popularity to trade on her own name, she just has Pappy.

At the end of the day, though. I don't think it will really matter. Mike will be unemployed moving forward, because if Kevin Matthews with close to twenty years under HIS belt in Chicago radio couldn't land a gig here after Jack FM started; if Mancow couldn't get back on the air when his show was as hot as it was?

North's career (and through it Jen's) will be confined to either buying airtime (and in doing so, Jen's salary from there will make a 25K one look like dream street) or internet broadcasting (which, I caught his Friday only because I was home. Considering North's target audience is 'blue collar' and most of us are working during the day? Not too many delivery trucks are set up with a wi-fi link up to catch the broadcast.)

About a year ago I was casting a travelling mobile event that needed two hosts to go around the country for McDonald's. One of the people who auditioned was Jen; she was limited, really couldn't interact with another person - and compared to others who were amatuers, she was simply awful. The job would have taken her across the country for over 4 months - I wonder what she would have done wih the morning show job?

She should really stay with North - she really doen't have any talent but her feminity.

I'm sure she had a rough upbringing on the tough streets of the northern suburs. Real "rags to riches".

Jen comes across as the prototypical "Dumb Blonde" while on the air. Her voice is annoying and delivery amateurish. In a word, she sucks as an "on air" personality. I can't speak for her abilities as a producer but I highly doubt she became the best sports producer in the country basically overnight and while under the wing of North.

This one continues to drive me nuts. What is the hype about this chicks looks? Man, I'm no model for GQ but Jen is far from a knockout! If this chick is living on her looks she's heading toward a huge fall because that face is nothing to write home about. And while I usually don't like dogging people based on their appearance I think the girl needs a reality check.

Has anyone dropped Patricia Babcock McGraw a line to ask her if she's ever had her radio tuned to AM 670 for more than a few minutes of the MNMS? After reading the article, I'm guessing she never heard of either of them until BeBe mailed her the article and the check.

As if talk of "rags to riches" and her being a great talent isn't ridiculous enough, all this crap about Jen being "like a daughter" to Mike is absurd. Who the hell makes the kind of lewd comments he's made to her over the years to someone they consider to be "like a daughter" to them?

The "daughter" notion is quite uncomfortable. Look, there are many fifty-some year olds hanging over by the viagra triangle hitting on twentysomethings, but at least they don't try to camouflage it as something else.

I guess it's relative to where she worked, and her producer/on-air peers in the industry in Chicago. Compared to the motley crew of, AFAIK, all males at WSCR and AM1000, she's pretty attractive. Out in the general population, however, she's still pretty, but not that pretty.

I just don't get what she thought would happen once Pappy left.

She thought she should be an EP or on the air? Jen, once Pappy's show was no more they didn't need you. I mean, do you really know sports? No. That's kind of important for these sports shows. Do you think Mully, Hanley, Murph, Boers, or Bernsie want to have childish converstations with you on the air like North did? Do you think those guys feel comfortable hitting on you? You think they want to play that game? No. It won't be the stupid "how lucky can one guy be..." time with those guys. It's not meatball city. They don't need the blond bimbo for their shows.

There is no more news or weather for you to read poorly. The Score isn't gonna do that crap anymore.

Jen claims "I wanted to be loyal to Pappy." What the hell does that mean? He doesn't have a job, Jen. You could have taken the Score's offer. (It actually sounded like nothing work, Jen. You should have taken it despite the low pay.) Then, if and when your hero gets another job you could have quit.

The Score was actually nice enough to think of a bullshit position for you. Notice how nobody else is getting that job since you turned it down. It was nice of them say "Jen, we don't think much of you but you can stay employed if you want."

I think Jen and Pappy are the only two people who don't realize how horrible that show was. Rock even knew it.
