From Norths website, from all these offers he had to nothing new to report. But I did find it curious that he mentioned WGN Radio 720AM a few times. I wonder if Kaplan has some vacation time and Northy is going to fill in. Personally I would he stunned.

I don’t know how much money could have been made or lost. But the Hawks coming into their own would have been SCORE property for years. But Zeke Zimmerman made his decision. We will see where this leads. But I do know that the Blackhawks will be destination radio for New Years Day from Wrigley Field on WGN Radio 720 and probably win a Stanley Cup within three to four years. Talk to ya soon.

That was a very criptic message. I read it picturing Pappy speaking this with a grin on his face.

I can't believe WGN 720 would hire him. Not that station. They are the definition of safe radio. Seems to work for them. They always have good numbers being safe. I find all of their shows boaring.

Could just be a shot at the Score for losing the Blackhawks. I don't think the Score will be too hurt by that. Let's face it, even if the Hawks are good, they are still the 5th team in this town behind the Bears, Cubs, Sox and Bulls.

Maybe he's just trying to stir things up with this message. WGN is gonna need to fill their morning slot. This could be Pappy acting like he's in the running. The same way he acted like he was in the running for the Sox radio booth. The same way he claimed he was close to replacing Imus in New York.

That's what I think it is. Typical Pappy.

Pappy's NtN post is absolutely pathetic, sad yet very laughable. He is, at one time, both trying to blow WGN to get them to consider him (which they would positively never do given public perceptions of his racism, sexism and other isms) and stabbing in the back a station that offered him $800,000 to be a low ratings disaster. I agree with the posters who say it is just plain fun to watch this dipshit commit suicide in a salami-slicing, duck pecking, death by a thousand cuts manner. Rarely is someone so stupid as to keep on giving the public the spectacle they long for.

Lighten up Mr. Reason, if you don't enjoy this sport go back to Bush bashing, global warming alarming or whatever public spectacle is your cup of tea.

I don't see WGN 720 adding someone as controversial as "Pappy" to its airwaves. They seem to have a very high standard and they steer clear of controversial personalities such as North. While William "Spike" O'Dell is tired of waking up early at 2a in preparations for the city's #1 wake-up call, WGN will be more likely of moving Steve Cochran from afternoon drive to mornings if it means staying at the top of the heap. Keep in mind "Spike" starting doing morning drive shortly after Bob Collins was killed in a plane crash, and I don't think O'Dell ever wanted to host mornings on the city's #1 station...

WGN could always use another bench guy for Sports Central. Right now, you have Memelo and Koz as the weekend guys plus fill in when Kap is gone. I sure hope they aren't thinking of adding him with Kap as I actually like Kaplan. They had a name in Waddle and he left for 1000 - I could see it happening, but the first time he did or said something over the edge, he'd be gone.

I agree. If they teamed him up with Kap, it would be short term, because he'd say something remotely anti-Semetic to Kap and get fired.

The latter makes me wonder a little bit. Perhaps he can sell McDonough the idea that he is a Chicago Hockey Authority. McDonough throughout his tenure with the Cubs has shown that he is in tune with paying customers. I'd like to hear Stink, Slappy, and Hoffy (as resident hockey geeks) weigh in on North's potential roles with the team.

From what I was told by my Hawks "guy", North went to them looking for a gig, told they didnt have any spots, but they didnt say no. Anything he gets will pay 200 a game or something close to that, so if he did squeeze his way in, it aint for the money.

I think Rocky is smart enough to know that having north involved with a up and coming team might kill a bit of the buzz they have going and I am pretty sure WGN radio has a say in it and I dont see it happening.

This latest scheme by North to suck up to the Hawks is just pathetic in every way, I guess those 4 offers didnt pan out.
