North will be live on WGN-TV a.m. news today to "discuss his future plans".

There was a shot of him with Konrad right off the Kennedy ramp at Fullerton. Mike was wearing a sign that read "I'll talk Sports for $$$$!"

He also has a bottle of Windex and a rag. He says he's doing this because he "misjudged his finances a little bit".

He is indeed poking fun of himself.

Are they going to actually talk to him, or just continually show him begging on the corner?

Wow - this is very natural. When does he keep making his appearance?

During the weather segments, of course.....

I'll give him credit - he continues to get guest appearances on shows despite the universal (it would seem) dislike for him.

I'm sure this appearance will be nothing more than he has all kinds of interest, but no decision has been made. Meanwhile, he'll be podcasting next week so listen in.

Too bad Mike wasted all these years on radio. He's a natural when it comes to windshield scrubbing by expressway exits.

His only pending "offer" is that internet nonsense he did a couple of weeks ago. He wont make any money doing that so he's trying to sell himself via these stupid appearances. He's hoping some one from a WGN or Ch 5 or the Hawks or ANYONE will hire him. He's actually counting on it. If it doesnt happen than he'll just say he's here to put webcasting on the map.

He does suck at radio but he UNDENIABLY DOES NOT HAVE A FACE FOR TV.

UGH

Caught some of it since WGN is what I have on in the morning and Konrad seemed like he didnt want to be there and Pappy was weird, not a good bit from what I saw.

I usually watch the WGN Morning News, and I saw two of his segments with the marble-mouthed Paul Konrad, and North looked like hell. He was wearing a "Caucasian Man" t-shirt and saying, as someone else said, how he miscalculated his finances and has nothing in TV or radio lined up.

I agree with everyone else who said that any involvement of North in Blackhawk broadcasts would kill a little of the buzz they've built in the last several months.

Did anyone pull up and recognize him?

Not during the two segments I saw. But that's probably the fault of WSCR for not putting up more MNMS billboards

I'm being completely serious here:

He has a LOT of cash to be able to start up a chain of hot dog stands. Why can't he do what portillo did? he definitely has the name recognition to get people in the door.

that really would be a Seinfield-esque move to try to get into the resturant business...

Basically, he isn't bright enough. Very few people, other than sports junkies, know who he is. He has no business sense, as his "tough" negotiations just showed. He's a moron.
BTW, a lot of his money is in real estate, unfortunately for him, it's in one of the worst markets around, Las Vegas. My bet is, he is getting killed now.

Well, credit to North for at least getting on television to make fun of himself. Sadly, the joke and North will fade away in the next month, if that long. The Chicago sports scene is going to get even hotter with the Cubs, Sox, Blackhawks and Bears. If Jen is smart, she will get a gig with WGN or FOX doing puff pieces to show off her cuteness. She's basically the very hot Susannah (from the Sun-Times) without the puff gig.

Jen's got about 2 more years left on that media "cuteness" time. She was never hot. In about 2 years that cuteness goes to "annoying bitch."

As far as TV, Jen's gonna fall short. There are much hotter girls to hire than her. Not to mention she's not a good broadcaster.

Local TV execs want "Paula Farris" type girls. Not "Jen Jen" type girls.

If he can weather the RE storm and not be cash poor, he should be A-ok.

God isn't making any more land, but he sure is making more and more people each day, so real estate will always continue to become more and more rare over time, and what becomes more rare always becomes more valuable.
I'll bet he's loaded with condos, not land. God made waaay too many of those already.

I stand by my statement.

The population in the Southwest I would guess increases at the fastest rate, unless, of course, if enough good citizens answer Chuck Norris' radio ad call to Border Patrol Duty.

Maybe that could be Pappy's next gig. Border Patrol. Keep dem darkskins outta our country.

Jen could drive Pappy, Fritzy and Knuckles up and down the border as they protect us from illegal immigrants. All the while listening to the same Dean Martin song over and over again.
