How do you NOT stay up for that game? Any die-hard White Sox fans should have been up yesterday, unless you had a job that made you wake up early in the morning. But with North, he is suppose to be a freakin' sports talk host. No excuses. I'm not listening to his show, I'm just going by what the post above me says.

And people wonder why I think the station is in a death spiral. North is the number one reason.

Who really listens to this show? I know that driving in to work all I can take is 4 minutes. I keep hoping to hear something about sports to no avail. It is unbelievable to me that the station sent the butthead and his team to Houston and the jerk can't stay awake for the whole game. Someone please explain or at least make a feeble excuse for this. Please try, anyone.

I don't understand why I turn the show on either, but I leave for work at 6:04am and find myself listening to the opening hoping that Mike and Co. will have a horrible point to make. I change it as soon as Annie starts talking with that stupid music in the background, and only if I remember do I turn it back about 10 minutes later to hear more moronic statements made.

I switched to the station to hear them talking about how Jen and whoever wanted to leave early and how she was putting her head down on the seat...
they honestly sounded like a radio crew from some FM station like 101.9 or 101.1 that aren't sports talk hosts or anything...

I mean WTF, North went to bed and the crew left early. I know I'm at home but I as well as most of the people I work with went to bed around 1-2am and got up at 5am and had no problem driving to work. These a-holes got paid to go to Houston and couldn't bother to see whether the Sox would be in a tough 2-1 series or a 3-0 guarantee of a World Series title.

Myabe Jen needed to be tucked in.

I'm willing to bet Mike has "tucked" her in many a time!

He followed it up by not going to the game that evening. How does a multimillionaire who is supposed to be a huge Sox fan not get a ticket for a World Series clincher even when he is in the city. This is tough to accept.

As I stated in another thread skyboxes (or as they call them, Diamond Suits) were available for $18,000 per game. Unfortunately I couldn's summon enough people to spread the cost over.

Good point, did he say what he was doing during the game? Was he watching it in his hotel room again eating nachos with Fred?

Since when is being unprepared for your JOB, considered professional.

so you want North to stay up for the homer - which at the time nobody knew what the hell was going to happen in that game or how long it might go -
then you want him to get 3 hours sleep tops,
then he has to do his show for 4 hours.

Isn't it a little more professional that he was thinking about the show instead of staying up?

Here's a novel fucking idea for you...TAKE A NAP AFTER THE SHOW!! Then get up in time to watch the game you are there to cover!!!!

What does Mike's personal habits have anything to do with things any of you should be concerned about?
Can he not watch highlights on T.V., and talk to people about the portions that he missed?
What would he see live - that couldn't be understood later by highlights or insight from others?

Your post is ridiculous. We are not talking about an F'ing Bears Preseason game. THIS IS GAME 3 OF THE WORLD SERIES. This is the team that this guy has said that he loves and cherishes, and he can't stay up late to watch the game.

You don't get the full experience watching replays. North complains about the Sox coverage locally and nationally. How is he going to back up his claims when he doesn't watch? North is the same guy who trashes Buck, but kisses his ass on his show. Also, How is he going to be the color man for the Sox, if he can't stay up late? "Well these 10 innings were exciting Ed...but you know I need my beauty sleep."

About his personal habits...You're right Mike never discusses other peoples "habits" on his show. Yeah, ask Brian Urlacher about how North never talks about people's "habits".

Actually North is there to put on a show, he's not there to cover the game. That would be Offman and Schusters job - to actually "cover" the game.
Do you have to watch something "live" to be able to comment on it, or to interview guests?

So then Bebe---why is the show in Houston?

You obviously work at the station, please explain why he went to Houston if he wasn't going to go to the games? He could have stayed home and put on the same lame show. Why was he in Houston?

So if somebody has something pro-Score to say, then they work at the station?
That can only mean that the 20 people who bash The Score all day long on here, obviously work at MVP. Right?
Not an answer to the question.

Oz - you're full of crap. The guy can't stay up 24 fricken hours a day - whether it's GAME 3 OF THE WORLD SERIES or not.
He has a show and a job to do.
Everybody operates differently. Just because YOU can't get the same feel from replays or others opinions and explanations of the events, doesn't mean that somebody else can't get the same "feel"

I'm not full of Crap your boy North is. If he is the big fan he says he is, knowing that Haley's Comet occurs more often than the White Sox's winning the World Series, he keeps his ass up. I mean it's not like we live in NY or ATL. I know people who went to work the next day. Chicago didn't shut down yesterday. Nobody cares if the Hot Dog stand isn't opened, but if he is going to be a member of the Chicago media he has to be held to a higher standard.

I mean what the hell Oz, Blum hit a damn home run and the Sox won the game. It's not a whole lot more complicated than that.

Did his heart stop when Marte entered the game? Why didn't Garner use Wandy instead of Ezquiel? Did you hear the crowd deflate? The guy who hosts "the Highly rated Morning Show" can't answer these questions.

That's why your ratings suck.

Well, let's just say that people who log in as "Guest" are always suspicious...

With that in mind, why does North go to Houston? To do interviews with the coaches, players, whomever, that they catch walking through the lobby. You want him to watch the game, surely, watching it from his TV affords a very good vantage point. And yeah, either from his house or the hotel room.

Remotes have always been tricky things to explain. Especially remotes done for morning show, where there isn't a lot of interviews/traffic to be had.

"Guest" postings, at least in my case, are for one reason and one reason only, I don't trust this site in the least.
From the site admin (no offense big man) on down, it's one big Score bash. And considering I'm not in that group, I'm not real crazy about my info being out there. I wouldn't put it past anybody on this site to hack me, just because I'm not part of the Score gang bang group.

Now of course you think I'm Mitch Rosen, and that's the reason that I don't want my info out there, but for some reason, I doubt he's very concerned about the 20 posters on here who have either been jilted by the Score, or who work for MVP.
I mean honestly you guys, give up the whole posting "to" hosts/management directly, you sound fricken ridiculous. I've seen Rock post here - so I'll give ya that one - but seriously, they're not reading, and they don't care.

Thanks, that really is the funniest post of the year!!!

WOW! Didnt he do the "world tour" B.S. around Chicago and still get up for his 10 AM show in the past?

what a wuss!

Like we say when you miss a little sleep-

"Suck it up PUSSY"

Unless he had plans. We know Mike has a soft spot for Hookers. Maybe he had an appointment thinking the game would be over with by then.

No refunds on deposits.

A lot of your point is interesting and true but you are simply incorrect on this. Holmes has posted here as well. MJH, B and B and Silvy and Carm and Ogulnik have all made reference to this site while on the air. I would not be so arrogant to think this site has a huge influence on the media of this city. However, you are simply wrong when you think they are not reading.

I can't wait to hear the first show where O.B. and Buffone say that they missed the 4th quarter of the Bear game that day, but felt qualified to talk about it anyway. That would really be compelling radio, don't you think, Mr. Guest? What's the diference? They could just read the game recap on the Internet, right?

You sure spend a lot of time defending someone with lousy ratings. I doubt you will convince anyone that North's show has any merit. He may have a huge paycheck, but he is no longer connecting with sports fans. He has become unlikeable to the average radio listener and that image will be hard to change, even with all your attempts. The morning show blows and not only people here, but all over Chicago know it. The ratings show that to be true. Best of luck.
