1 - from Bill Zwecker's column in today's Chicago Sun-Times - MUSIC MEN: Thanks to Mike North's friendship with manager Peter Schivarelli and the members of the rock group Chicago, the band has recorded new lyrics for its "Old Days" classic -- creating a "Monsters in the Morning" theme song for the new show North and Dan Jiggetts will launch Jan. 12 on Comcast SportsNet. "As a Chicago native and fan of those guys since I was in high school dancing to 'Color My World,' I am totally blown away by this," North says.
2 - and from the Robert Feder column - After only one year, Chris Witting's TalkZone.com has rolled out 35 daily and weekly talk shows, all streaming online for free and available on demand as podcasts and downloads.
The site's locally produced shows include Mike North's daily talk show, Hub Arkush's "Pro Football Weekly."
3 - and from me - I say somewhere out there is a media conspiracy designed to keep the name of radio has-been Mike North in the papers. Old Days by Chicago indeed, but he should also try Glory Days by Springsteen or Living In The Past by Jethro Tull!
