Ok, I usually just check this board and the murph board, but for some fucking reason I checked out the other boards and was LAUGHING MY ASS OFF to learn that North got fired by Webio.

Here's the thread in the other board : viewtopic.php?f=64&t=33455

Just helping out the guys who only visit this board like me.

Seeing as the guy who fired North, Bebe and Spaceball was David Hernandez, and his company is the primary sponsor for Monsters in the Morning on Comcast, this can't bode very well for anybody involved....

Wow. Coppock, Hood, and the rest all probably are screwed too. Just because you have a contract doesn't mean you'll get the money.

I wondered when I saw the webio ribbon board on the Sox game the other day just how much an ad like that would cost. Considering you only see WSCR's ad maybe for half an inning; and they're the flagship station of the Sox and would probably qualify for a discount?

That has to be setting them back.

As much as its funny to hear that North, Bebe, and Spaceball got launched; guys like Webby and others who work behind the scenes will hurt more from this.

Wonder where Murph will land now? He probably will go ballistic if this was his fallback position.......

The Tribune has picked up the story as well. Show will still be broadcast on webio; he's just out as *shudder* 'an exec.'

But Hernandez claims he was told by Comcast officials that North would be pulled from the program.

"Comcast knows we are in a partnership that's locked in legally until July 12," Hernandez said. "If Mike was no longer [on the show], the partnership will continue. If he is there, that will be a problem."

"We allowed Mike to be the face, but he was a simple employee," Hernandez said. "Unless he can come up with several million dollars, his comments about taking over are comical."

This should get real ugly real quick.
