Marrioti guy, you must be jay marrioti because you don't do your research either. XM has 2 satellites, one over the east coast and one over the west coast. It also has terrestrial satellites all over the country. I can personally attest to the fact that there are terrestrial satellites over most of the suburbs of chicago. That means you get just about perfect reception. I have not had any problems getting reception at home or in the car. I would recommend anyone going to the store, getting the cheap xm or sirius radios, and trying it out for a month. I still listen to local sports talk when there is a big local story but otherwise I don't touch the am or fm dial. Marrioti guy is right though, satellite is so much better than fm/am. The only radio to survive will be local news and sports talk since you only get national sports. The national stuff is not bad since there is variety and you can avoid the booyah network when they have 6 months of yankees-red sox programming. Trust me, give it a try.
I just wish I could buy a walkman Sirius with live programming....
Also would be nice to switch to local FM/AM on a walkman portable device....
