As much as I hate to admit it, one of the reasons I check this board is to read the negative comments about North. Since I dont listen, I get my fuel for my hatred towards North here. I hope each day I come here that someone will have a posting Saying "North is Gone!!!" It hasnt happened yet but we all know it will.


Any guesses from regulars as to how it will finally end for Mike "Pesci" North?

I guess it will be a contract coming to end. I hope it will be because of something he says or does.

I don't think it will end soon at all if his rating improve....Now, I know some will say his ratings still suck, he's not worth the money, the rating score he received is flawed, etc, but the numbers were still improved.

Now, I hope that the show loses Anne Maxfield - she has no business being on a sports show (I realize this may not qualify as a sports show so I guess that's why she's on ? ?).

Also wanted to throw out there - if the White Sox play well, what does that do for North the next morning - assuming he talks about the game...

TMNALS (all 6 of them) mention that Mike is making Money for the station? And I hope he is making money as that is what he is suppossed to do, but I would really like to know how much and besides from making money is the word 'profit' thrown around in there anywhere.

Found some things on the web that said WSCR Grossed $13 Mill and if that is true North and his Entourage have to be over $2 Mill of that cost, closer to $2.5 I would guess.

Does the Mike North Show gross $3 mill, at least getting them back 20% on that fine investment? or would it be better to gross $1 mill and Pay J Hood $70,000?

First of all, don't insult Joe Pesci by associating him with the Hot Dog guy.

Second of all, if things North has said in the past haven't gotten him shitcanned, I don't know what he COULD say to get him fired. He's insulted virtually every ethnic group possible, he's taken shots at gays and women...the MFer is bulletproof. Sadly, his bulletproof nature even extended to Fritzy, the sidecar rider. Fritzy had to insult the Jews and one of their sacred traditions for the Jewish program director to say "no mas."

If I were to predict the end of the hot dog reign on WSCR, it's simple...."we regret to inform our loyal listeners that we at WSCR could not reach agreement on a new contract with Score original Mike North. Mike is a sports talk pioneer and made WSCR what it is today, we wish him well in his future endeavors." If only that press release could come out tomorrow....

In regards to revenue generated by the MNMS, why do think so much experienced (code for higher priced) talent has left WSCR to be replaced with less experienced (code for cheaper) talent? Who do you think gets paid less, the combo of Zaidman and Holmes or Jiggetts? Thusly, WHY do you think they needed cheaper talent? Answer: their financial black hole named Pappy sucked the war chest dry. I was SHOCKED when both B&B got new paper.

Here's another question for you to ponder....if/when North leaves WSCR, what does he do next? Is there another PD in this town stupid enough to sign him to a big money deal? My money's on a high brow restaurant in Park Ridge that goes up in flames 3-4 years after the grand opening.

I have a feeling Mike North will be able to dance on all of his detractors graves. When this contract is up he may not be able to get paid at the same level, but he will get paid. I've said it before, he may not personally be to your taste but subtract him from the SCORE lineup and you have a steaming pile. Talent is not being developed to take his place.

He is in his mid 50's right now. Another contract will take him to around 60. The guy will have made so much money by that time, he could do anything that he feels like doing... which is really what everyone dreams about.

I understand where you’re coming from, but the argument only works when you assume that North does the show he’s capable of doing, not the show he’s currently doing. If you subtract the mourning show, the station is no better or worse than it was before. Why, you asK? Because the mourning show blows! North has gotten progressively worse since the Jiggs split. His solo show was mediocre. The Wiseguys show was just plain awful. The mourning show is an absolute disgrace. He only makes the station better when he puts on a show that’s worth listening to, and he hasn’t done that in years.

Mike and Fritzy told bad Jewjokes at will until Fritzy crossed the line into a joke about religious observance. Do you miss him? I don't, but I don't listen to the show in the first place.
