From Chicago. Died at 81 on September 11th.

Christ, the things this guy wrote...let's see:

"M*A*S*H*: The Series"
"Tootsie"
"Oh, God!"
"Blame it on Rio"
"Barbarians at the Gate"
"City of Angels" (Broadway)
"A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" (Broadway)

This guy was one of the most prominent writers of one of the best eras of comedy, writing with guys like Sid Caesar and Neil Simon.

RIP, good sir.

Obscure. We had to sing that song in grade school music class. Who knew there were words?

I think it was a sick joke our music teacher played on us because she hated us. Sang it every week.
