Rock, Mike, Annie, Fred, or Jen, I must admit that it is funny.

Haven't said anything good about Mike in a long time. Now, that's a funny bit. Where did he learn to do a Gregorian Chant?

Rock, production note for you. In Catholic churches (I assume that's what he was mimicking) the crowd hardly ever screams Halleluiah. That southern baptist-like drop about half way into the bit was totally unnecessary. Also, need to add a little more reverb.

I was going to give my compliments as well. It is great to hear a chant done with a thick Chicago accent. I would make this a daily bit at a regular time. This is a return to the good old days with prognosticators like Kammala and the Wizard.

It also doesn't hurt that he gave me a heads up on a St. John's cover.

Anybody know who he took for today?

Yea, I have to give the devil his due. I heard it Monday, and thought it was pretty clever. It's a helluva improvement over "stat man".

Yeah, it's funny. And it puts Priests in a better light than they've done for themselves.

Doug, its North, you cant hold him to the same standard as others. This is probably the best bit that has come from North and Co in the last 2 years. This is the Mike who used to be entertaining, lets see if we can keep it up. I wont hold my breath.

the bit was funny the first time, but now he is running it into the ground and patting himself on the back everytime he runs it.

I agree. This is a bit that has no legs. I think Rock saw that we liked it so he got a hard on. But Rock there is no where else you can take it. Take are compliments and try to think of other creative things to do. Tell Pappy to stop patting him self on the back for this one. It's his job to come up with funny bits. It's about time you guys hit one int the year and a half you've been on "da air"

I agree. Hate to say it, but today's was not that good. I did notice, however, that Rock cleaned-up the "halleleuia's" and replaced them with "Amen's". Great correction, Rock-ola!

I think the show SHOULD focus on having at least one good bit per day. Does the show employ a comedic writer to help things out on the creative end? I would think that that would go unsaid, but. . .

A couple of interesting things:

I was the original poster on this and I meant my compliments sarcastically. Personally, I didn't find it very funny. HOWEVER, the response indicates that I'm apparently in the minority and that shows that all the "North-haters" on this board can be very fair-minded. Give the listeners something they like and they will not hesitate to say so! You guys just proved that.

Now, I see some complaints about the bit being run into the ground and Mikey patting hiomself on the back over it. And that's one of the annoying things about him. Has he ever done good or funny things? Of course, but then he does exactly the above, especially the back-patting part. OK, Mike, you did something funny that a lot of people seemed to like. Now get over yourself, move on, and try and come up with another one before 2008.

Shut up, Bernstein, and let some of the air out of your egghead.

Hey Rock,
Can you post a link to the bookie priest segment so I can hear what all the excitement is about?

Just say something like "Take the Mavericks and the three and a half" in that funky singing/chanting voice like Catholic priests do at a mass and you've pretty much captured the bit.

Honestly, The Bookie Priest bit is not too bad. I can say I cracked a smile (maybe even a chuckle?) when I heard it....now he just needs to make sure he doesn't overdo it - OOPS - too late.
