Watch out Robert Vaughn & David McCallum: The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (My boyhood hero's back in 1964!)

Just ten days after the death of Mission: Impossible’s Peter Graves, another star from an iconic 1960’s spy series has passed away: I Spy’s Robert Culp. According to authorities, Culp died this morning after a fall at home. He was 79 years old.

Says the LAT:

The 79-year-old actor was rushed to Queen of Angels hospital shortly after 11 a.m. after hitting his head while taking a walk outside his home in the 1800 block of El Cerrito Place, said LAPD Lt. Bob Binder. He was found by a jogger who called 911, and paramedics, patrol officers and detectives responded to the scene.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. A preliminary investigation found “that his death is accidental and there appears to be no sign of foul play,” Binder said. An autopsy by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office is pending.

"I Spy" was quite a groundbreaking show with Robert Culp & Bill Cosby back in the mid '60s, and I remember an episode of "The Cosby Show" circa 1987 where the two actors reunited. Culp also played tough-talking FBI agent Bill Maxwell from 1981-83 on "The Greatest American Hero" opposite William Katt & Connie Sellecca. That series not only was the first hit series for Stephen J. Cannell's own production company and featured one of arguably the worst themes I've ever heard from Joey Scarbury, but Katt's character couldn't fly squat!

I thought it was on TBS not that long ago...Eddie Murphy star in that unnecessary feature film?
