from Feder yesterday......

Never one to shy away from a good fight, Mike North is at war with his WSCR-AM (670) bosses over commercials they're airing for a competing radio station.

Twice in the past week, the Score's morning personality has blasted management for running ads during White Sox baseball broadcasts promoting adult rocker WXRT-FM (93.1).

Although both the Score and WXRT are owned by CBS Radio (and WXRT previously ran ads for the Score's Sox broadcasts), North pointed out that the two stations target similar audiences -- listeners between the ages of 25 and 54. On Tuesday's show, he railed against the arrangement, calling it "ridiculous" and "just plain stupid."

Paul Agase, vice president and general manager of the sports/talk station, dismissed North's complaint out of hand. "That's his opinion," he said.

Told of Agase's reaction, North exploded once again: "In my opinion, if that's what he said, then that's a guy who doesn't have a grasp of what is going on here," he said.

"Don't talk to me about our ratings when you're telling people to go to another station. How would you like to be an advertiser on the Score and hear the station say: 'We want you to go to WXRT?'

"I can't even get a billboard in this town, and they're promoting another station. To me, it's absolutely unconscionable."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
People have said less and gotten shitcanned. The funniest part of the article is that North said "unconscionable." You know damn well that he meant to say something else, that word isn't in his vocabulary, too many syllables.

1. Not restrained by conscience; unscrupulous: unconscionable behavior.

Maybe he's tryng to get himself fired. Then he could lay the blame completely at management's feet for his failure. He passes the buck at every turn, nothing is his fault, no billboards, not enough promos etc. No show is promoted more than the MNMShitfest. His salary has caused many cutbacks and the station has suffered as a result. Hell, Agase knows what is giong on. He has an albatross around his neck and it is Mike North. That ad, like 20% of the others, goes to pay a bad contract. Just shut up Mike and cash your check every two weeks.

CONGRATULATIONS....you've just been named the Brown's Chicken Poster of the Night.

"Producer Cy's gonna get your info, and YOU'RE GOING TO BROWN'S! Oh, the buttermilk batter...."

Great post. The sad thing is, it's just another bullet that's going to ricochet off of North. He is teflon, I am nauseous.

He said unconscionable, but he just mispronounced it.
