BIG BUZZ: Chicago native Dennis Tufano, former lead singer of the Buckinghams, backed by a 15-piece orchestra presents a tribute to the late Bobby ("Mack the Knife") Darin Aug. 8 and 9 at the Park West. Tufano's voice can be heard on the Buckinghams' classics like "Kind of a Drag" and "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy." The opening act is comic Tim Walkoe. Tufano will also appear at the Bolingbrook Performing Arts Center Aug. 10.

stoneroses86 / I love your standup act! / Walkoe has been a pro comedian since before Zanies opened / and Zanies opened in about 1978 / that would be 5 years before Muddy died / so maybe Walkoe started in 1973 / probably born in 1950 / press agent out.

I hope you realize that I was just kidding Tim Walkoe. Seriously, he has also played with Elvis Costello, one of my all time favorites.

Having been duly corrected, be it hereby ordered that Webster's definition of "Oxymoron" be updated to add the following: "Not even the presence of excellent comedian Tim Walkoe can add any buzz whatsoever to any performance by the incredibly stale and lame Buckinghams. The return of Christ Almighty to this world as an opener would barely be able to overcome the staleness of said Buckinghams."
