Why the hell wouldn't you take an afternoon anchor position at WBBM? Isn't that a better job with much more job security than what she has now?

But she's probably going to hang it up after the MNMS and doesn't care about job security anyway, so I guess she probably doesn't care.

I think she would have had to take a major pay cut to move, probably would have had a lot less air time than she will now with Mike North restoring her role, and maybe H.Wells doesn't have the same influence over at WBBM that seems to have an impact on North hiring her in the first place.

I would like to know what Anne's skills are that apparently we're not seeing.....Anyone ? (This is a serious question)

She is decidedly exceptional in three areas:

1) Nuptials;
2) Extended breast feeding;
3) Making me want to end my life.

This Feder stuff is confusing: she turned down WCKG? Okay, that's a very good move, but turning down afternoons at WBBM? That's very dumb, it's been in the Top 5 rated stations for about 40 years. BUT - she sucks reading news - who would put her in afternoon drive on the CBS Cash Cow? This whole thing smells like DREW HAYES trying to honor her contract & save his job again!

Dialing: Maxfield to the max
CBS Radio bosses can't seem to make up their minds on a role for Anne Maxfield, who's just been restored to her old duties as co-host of Mike North's morning show on sports/talk WSCR-AM (670). In recent weeks, she'd been cut back to reading news headlines and filing her nails.
In the interim, she'd been wooed to join Stan Lawrence and Terry Armour's midday show at CBS "Free FM" talker WCKG-FM (105.9), and was offered an afternoon anchor position at CBS all-news WBBM-AM (780).

Maxfield wisely turned both down. Neither was a good fit.

So, there is hope?

I don't think so - there's only a 1.5 years left on North's contract. I think then changes will happen, but we have to wait for then.

i have a feeling that will be a very intriguing time in chicago "sports" talk radio.
certainly, if Mike doesn't re-up with WSCR, he'll be headed somewhere.

And I'll bet M&M continue to win the time slot until north is gone.

I cannot believe how Feder just lets North's show slide. North must really take care of thes guys, because there is no way that two years should pass without someone taking this guy to task.

Apparently, the money offered to Anne Maxfield from the other stations was the same as she is currently making at the Score. Also, no significant changes can be made to North's show until his contract is up.

Who would offer Anne 100K + to read the news ? It can't be based on what she does for the North show because she sounds so misplaced.

The message I posted was the information provided to me when I sent an email to Robert Feder. I asked him about the situation and the information I provided was what he sent to me.
