I usually don't have a big problem with Fred - he's not there to argue with Mike as much to be a sidekick and agree with nearly all things North says...

Saying that, Fred, please either get your NBA knowledge up to speed, or just stay quiet.

Examples - both in the 1st half hour of the show:

1) Fred mentions that the Bulls have good perimeter defense, and then talks about how they improved their interior defense by signing Ben Wallace, but then he says he had no idea that PJ Brown was another good defensive player, because he's P.J. Brown, and who knows who that is ????
(Credit to North here for rattling off the main teams that Brown has played for)

2) Talking about Hinrich's contract extension and how the deal is front - loaded, Fred insisted that Hinrich should have asked for more of the money later on in the deal. Now, I know he was probably being somewhat sarcastic since we're talking about 47 million dollars, but if you know anything about the Bulls/Paxson/NBA Salary Cap, which I would expect a sports talker to, the Bulls structured the deal that way so more money would be availble to sign their other young players like Noce, Deng, and Gordon.

That's all, carry on.

He has a Jerry deal

$100,000 every month until he is 40, then he gets $5M.

Which costs Jerry about $12M and then his PR people take the $12M today and use their HP-12C's and figure the FV of $12M in 15 years and they come up with some $40+ Million figure for the papers.

Welcome to Jerrynomics- Spin the deal to look good for you.

See Maggs deal in 2004

I thought I heard on the news that it's ascending (like Nas said) to be 7M in year 1 and rise to 11M in year 5

I understand your gripe BD but before we get too far into this season, remember that the only three Score guys who really know enough about basketball to provide insight are Bernstein, Goff, and Schuster. Larry Holmes, Terry, and Pappy at least try to act like they know something about basketball so I'll give them credit there. Everyone else on the station are either baseball or football guys though.

Here's what the Tribune said:
League sources said the deal is worth $47.5 million and is front-loaded to start in the 2007-08 season at roughly $11.42 million. The deal then de-escalates to pay Hinrich roughly $8 million during its final season in 2011-2012.

Fred also mentioned yesterday that he thought Kukoc brought more to the team than Pippen. I mean, I liked Kukoc too, but c'mon

That had to be in response to North calling Pippen overrated or not trying hard every night ???
