Agreed.

I hope Mookie Blaylock doesn't hear about this. Sounds like he's in some shit already and this won't help.

Hmmm... missed her interview on Spada's podcast. She was pretty iconic in that role though. RIP.

So glad she was able to get away from the attempted rapist

She was also excellent as the giants wife in Fairy Tale Theater's Jack and The Beanstalk

Great show. She was good in a guest spot on Everybody Loves Raymond too.

90 is a solid rub. RIP

one of the worst episodes. that and one of the last ones where Archie's place got robbed on super bowl sunday

for a show that imo is still top 5 all time, there is a HUGE dropoff after the 4th/5th season. once mike & gloria move next store and joey comes along, it's BAD. can't believe they went on for so long after that, the stephanie thing was even worse.

at least something like seinfeld where the last season was a bit iffy, there's still some good value in it. the later all in the family's are brutal to watch

What was your favorite All in the Family episode?

Mine is the one where Archie gets the dog recording to protect the house and they get robbed and Edith sings the robbers a song and they give her all the things back.

Mike Stivic: Why is Jefferson number 2?

Archie Bunker: Because, Meathead, there can only be one number 1 and one number 2 and life made Jefferson number 2 long before I come along.

Gloria Stivic: So then Puerto Ricans are number 3 then, huh Daddy?

Archie Bunker: Well not necissarily there, Little Girl, your Puerto Ricans can be 4. Your Japs and your Chinks can be 3 - 3A, 3B.

Mike Stivic: Why couldn't they say "Buddha, bless you" in Chinese?
Archie Bunker: Because they don't say that, that's why. If they say... Well, if they say anything at all, it's "Sayonara".
Mike Stivic: That's Japanese.
Archie Bunker: Same thing.
Mike Stivic: It's not the same thing!
Archie Bunker: What are you talking about? You put a Jap and a Chink together, you gonna tell me which is which?
Mike Stivic: That's right, because I find out about them. I talk to them as individuals.
Archie Bunker: Sure you talk to them. You say, "Which one of you guys is the Chink?"
Mike Stivic: [yells] I don't believe this. He's making me crazy!

Oh yeah the menopause one was great.

Archie: I know all about your woman's problems, but when I had the hernia, I didn't make you wear the truss! Now if you're gonna have this change of life you're gonna do it right now! You have 30 seconds, now CHANGE!

Archie Bunker: Now wait a minute, Meathead, you said that, not me. I never said your black beauties was lazy. It's just their systems is geared a little slower than the rest of us.
Mike Stivic: Archie...
Archie Bunker: You don't believe me, look it up.
Gloria Stivic: He's prejudiced, there's no hope for him. No hope at all.
Archie Bunker: I'm not prejudiced, any man deserves my respect and he's gonna get it irregardless of his color.
Mike Stivic: Then what are you calling them names like black beauties for?
Archie Bunker: Now that's where I got you, mister liberal, because there's a black guy who works down at the building with me, he's got a bumper sticker on his car that says 'Black is Beautiful', huh, so what's the matter with black beauties?
Edith Bunker: It's nicer than when he called them coons.

My favorite episode was the flashback one where Archie first met Meathead.

True, but the guy saying all these terrible things is a moron, idiot, and always end up losing out in the end during every episode. It's not like he's the hero, and also a racist. It makes a mockery of people like that.

Still wouldn't work now. Nobody would stick around long enough to see how the show ends. The FCC would be flooded with complaints before the show made it to commercials...

Yep they would totally miss the point.

It's just strange that it still survives in reruns to this day.

right and not only that, but they don't edit or censor when he says burrito (f ag) and things like that....i mean just for comparison all the old Tom & Jerry and Tex Avery cartoons that were racist as hell were all edited

But it's alittle different becasue they were cartoons. If you look more into it, you may find that certain All in the Family shows have been taken out of heavy rotation. Lots of old sitcoms do this. We just never really notice...

I like the one when Edith gets the $48 in quarters from the prune company.
