Dennis Farina was a great actor, this sucks! His TV show "Crime Story" was one of the best cop shows ever put on TV until it got into the latter part of it's run. It turned out to be a comedy instead of a drama with one bizarre write-off in the final episode. Midnight Run still cracks me up and his performance in it was great along with DeNiro & Grodin. A former Chicago Cop did good....RIP!

Enjoyed him as an actor. Though, Robert Stack was a better host of "Unsolved Mysteries".

I feel every stupid grease-ball meathead in New York and New Jersey have modeled themselves after Farina's schtick.

Crime Story was a great show. They never should have moved it from Chicago to Vegas.

Don't say a fucking word to me, Sidney. Don't you say a fucking word, or I will get up and bury this telephone in your head.
You and that other dummy had better start getting more personally involved in your work, or I'm gonna stab you through the heart with a fuckin' pencil.

He was awesome in that movie. Bummer.

Agree Crime Story in the beginning was just so good. Midnight Run is pure joy, When DeNiro steals the FBI guys credentials and uses them all through the movie is awesome.

One of his kids was on with Steve Dahl once and said that really wasn't an act. He said that's the way Farina talked to his kids.

ELAINE: Why couldn't we just take the hair off and go?

JERRY: No. That’s out of the question.

ELAINE: Whhhy?

JERRY: Because I had a bad experience with a hair when I was younger.

ELAINE: What happened?

JERRY: I'd rather not talk about it.

ELAINE: You can't tell me?

JERRY: All right . . . . I once found a hair in my Farina and I freaked out.

(*Farina: A meal or flour obtained chiefly from cereals, nuts, potatoes or Indian Corn, and used as a breakfast food.)

ELAINE: You found a hair in your Farina?

JERRY: Yeah.

CLERK’S VOICE (off camera): 56

ELAINE: What happened?

JERRY: Well I started screaming, "There's a hair in my farina. There's a hair in my farina." Then I ran out of the house and I was running and running. And like I was little but I could run very fast. And I-I just kept running (In the background -- CLERK’S VOICE: 57) and they found me like three hours later collapsed at a construction site.

ELAINE: (quietly) Wow. Who's hair was it?

(In the background -- the Clerk is coughing)

JERRY: My mother's.

ELAINE: (quietly) Ahhhhh

His best role, by far, was Snatch. Just glorious. McNeil didn't even mention it today.

If someone took Dennis Farina's phone, I bet he'd knock that mother fucker out! I bet if someone stole a stranger's phone, he'd still go after the guy & give him the business!
