I honestly don't care. If they can get it, take it.
I just have a suspicion that they actually don't have 8 weeks. They go over the limit cuz, well...they can. I think Mac and Spiegs simply go to Mitch and tell them they're taking off for whatever reason and he always says "Ok, sure", cuz he's a weak boss. If it's over the limit, it doesn't matter cuz Mitch is too scared to say anything. Good for them. They have a boss that they can walk over. I'm not gonna begrudge them.
I think it hit Mac and Spiegs one day.
Mac and Spiegs: HE NEVER SAYS NO!!!!!
So they're gonna take advantage.
I've always thought Mitch is the type of boss that wants to avoid conflict. I think he's scared to confront people. Life is probably good for him. Score makes enough money so his bosses are happy. I think he's a "go along to get along" guy if the station has a decent profit margin. So his main objective is to avoid talking to his employees as much as he can. Because talking to employees has no upside. It can only lead to problems. Especially with the Score's high strung, egomaniac douchebags. That's how Mitch thinks.
Mitch's passive style has enabled Bernstein's culture to take over the station. It's allowed the fights, weirdness and the stupidity as well. I think Mitch might be the only GM at any radio station in the country to allow subordinates like drink and Goff to use the station's airwaves to cry, bitch and pick fights with station higher ups. Only Mitch.
