Cold, lonely and depressed....

That's Mac after last nights embarrassing performance by the Blackhawks. He now has to stay in Boston with Princess MeatPants of Candyland for another few days, I'm sure he is super thrilled.

-HAWKS SUCK
-MACHAWK OFF THE BANDWAGON.
-Interviews
-Meat bitches about the show pot.
-Meat bitches, in general.
-Mac is sheepish
-Meat is hungry
-NBA talk? Maybe to distract from a 'Hawks loss.

I do it because I must, not because I like it.

Tuned in long enough to catch a Boston caller deliver a hearty "Hey Spiegel, YOU SUCK" over the tunein feed.

Princess Meat is having an inner-meltdown as we speak.

Do any of you think management shakes up this show once Candyman's contract his up? I haven't heard anything about the ratings lately, but I remember them doing well. Correct me if I'm wrong. So if the ratings are fine, why do they make any sort of move? Why fix it if it ain't broke, in other words? Even if Mac wanted to make a switch, would he be allowed to if everything is fine in terms of ratings?

I don't know, I just don't know.

Things can change if Mac makes a big enough stink about not wanting Princess Candyman on the show anymore or maybe The Candyman doesn't want to come back. You never know.

But, as you said, if the ratings/sponsorships are fine then I don't see Mitch stepping in and shaking things up. Unless the ratings/money etc. growth isn't there or where they want it or the maybe the competition is gaining....I don't fucking know, you just have to think that Mac has had it with his co-host.

They pay Fatpants so little that it would cost nothing to fire him now.

Just a few more flight miles and all will be well. Right, Mackeyfish?

The show itself is pretty vanilla so something like a host being a Candyman is going to get some interest.

How much do you all think the average listener resents and/or is annoyed by Candyman? The dissatisfaction on this board is quite evident, but what about the majority of listeners? Would they want him gone as well? I suppose it wouldn't matter if, like SomeGuy mentioned, Mac just wanted a change anyway.

Dahl used to always say awkward radio is good radio. I concur.

And he's right!

The Mac and King Candyman Show is loaded with bad and awkward radio moments. The show can be barreling along with sports and such being discussed and then, out of the blue like a bolt of lightening.....it can all completely turn on a dime and get awkward....like BAD awkward.

Excellent call by the brand today. He called to talk about the power play, and at one point said "penalty play". Terrible.

Mac stopped defending Meat Months ago. Meat "stepped down" from Hit & Run. Meats contract is up in July I believe. Score Management knows that Macs ratings are because of him, not Spiegel. All indications are that Candyman wont be renewed, but of course Mac could lobby to save him. We will know soon.

Here is the lineup that I want to see at the Score:

M&H 5-9. Not my favorite, but these guys get ratings & aren't going anywhere. I have no idea how or why Hanley has managed to continue to host a show at the Score for 21 years since day 1.
Murph & Fred would be great in this slot.

Berns & either Rosey or Rozner 9-1. Both Rosey & Roz challenge Dan & disagree with him, which makes for a more interesting & engaging show as opposed to Boers who doesn't have the balls or interest in challenging Dan. Terry doesn't really believe half of the crap that he says with Berns.

Mac & Boers 1-6. Pairing Boers with Mac again would put a jump in both of their steps.

Joe O & Connor 6-10. I have grown to like Joe & Connor is a pro. These guys are good together & would certainly be better that Loho every night.

I think people who desire a Mac/Boers pairing are simply being too nostalgic. Neither has any interest (nor capability IMO) in driving a show or becoming re-energized at this point in their careers, and it would be a disaster during drive-time.

The Score will not pay big money for a partner for Mac. Period. They dump Fatpants and you'll end up with another low paid loser producer type sitting there.

I have been listening to the Score since day 1, and I must say, the Brand's call was one of the all time worst. He thought Scotty Bowman could go down to the ice, and help the "penalty play". Absolutely brutal. It was a complete and total embarrassment to painters, Elmhurstians, and sports fans everywhere.
