Rozner said he showed up for the pre-show meeting only to find out that the meetings have been cancelled. Spiegel said they (he and Goff) decided that they don't need to do them anymore.

I think the disjointed feeling of their shows says otherwise, but what do I know.

Welp, it only takes a few minutes of Mike Florio for Spiegel to become likable.

Wish it was Florio vs. Bernsie on this. That could get loud.

Rozner: I didn't see any of this discussion yesterday on Twitter, and after hearing the discussion between you two I'm glad I didn't.

I don't necessarily disagree with Florio. The game has been made safer and they are teaching kids to tackle differently, not lead with their head, etc.

I'm really tired of Spiegel saying that people watch football solely for the violence and the huge, devastating hits. I watch football because I like football. While hard hits are part of the game, I don't need to see someone get their head taken off or getting knocked into the middle of next week in order to enjoy football.

Concussions and repeated head hits can't be considered good but Florio made a decent point. There are more than 1700 or so players in the NFL in a year. Over the last 20 years how many have really definitively had CTE issues? IDK (<2%?) but it isn't "deeply dangerous" as Spiegs mentions.

I also agree with Florio that there are people who want to say "tsk-tsk", wag their finger at the NFL, and look down on people who play or who let their kids play -- as if Borland is correct for choosing to not play and everyone else is wrong for playing.

This is the second topic today over which Rozner has sounded exasperated with Spiegel's inability to accept a difference of opinion.

I dont understand how you got to that conclusion

You realize that players can have CTE and it goes undiagnosed, right?

Something about not being able to get up "after that dog you laid at the United Center."

Im not trying to be a jerk. But it seems like you say things that you dont know to be true and then form opinions as if those things are factual.

If you dont know the numbers, then how do can you assess the danger level?

MY assumption is that the term "deeply dangerous" Meat used to describe football was over the top. Spiegs tone and wording is making it sound like the NFL is more dangerous than the front lines in Iraq. Certainly the NFL can be bad for your head. I am guessing at the numbers because what we hear about CTE issues (albeit we only here the sensational stuff) is much less than as a percentage of total players.

Its not more dangerous than war, I agree

Man, you guys are illogically harsh. Spiegel said Goff was in Vegas. Probably had this planned for months. Long before he knew he was coming back to THE SCORE.

Plus, so what? He has vacation time. Doesn't matter when he uses it.

That's the one thing I never get about posters here. They hate when SCORE people use their days off. Never got that.
