I turned on LeBatard after that. The difference is that Bomani Jones is intelligent, educated, interesting, and occasionally funny. And he was all of that before he was on ESPN - he used to be on an Canadian XM station of all things while based in NC, that's when I first heard him maybe 6-7 years ago.

Jason just laughs.

I turned on 670 when LeBatard went to break at 9:55-ish, and the goofs were playing some rap song from the 80s, Goff couldn't stop laughing, and Grimace was talking about his multicultural lunch table in high school.

Oh, completely agree. I think part of the 'stick to sports' argument is that we don't want dopes on the Score straying from what they're barely good at in the first place.

So just because WSCR has the Cubs we are assuming Kap will eventually go there? Seems weak unless the money and time slot are right. Kap's a perfect ESPN personality. Doubt they'd let him go unless they don't want to pay exorbitant sums.

Kaplan would make perfect sense for middays on the station with the Cubs, but I don't think ESPN would have signed him to a contract that's less than a year, nor one with an escape clause. I am still reluctant to say he would make perfect sense for WSCR, though, because his style doesn't fit the station. Kaplan in middays would tilt the scale back to talking about sports and away from what narratives mean, and I don't think that will be allowed to happen.

I used to think that about Danny Mac going to WGN because of his beloved Blackhawks.
