According to Goff, the Dodgers made Yasil Puig bad by robbing him of his Latinness. He was the best player on the team, but then a bunch of lesser white players (i.e. Zach Greinke- whom Goff referred to as a "nutcase"
) ruined him by throwing his luggage off the bus and turning the team against him because he was having too much fun. Further, its a shame what the Dodgers are doing by demoting him because he should be a superstar.
First of all Puig isn't all that good. The talent is obvious, but after his initial success pitchers figured him out and his production plummeted. Plus he's hurt all the time.
Calling Greinke a lesser player is stupid, as is knocking him for having social anxiety problems when Puig hasn't met anyone that he hasn't pissed off. If memory serves, one of the other lesser white players who had a problem with him was Clayton Kershaw...
It seems that if Puig were being treated unfairly other teams would be interested, right? What? You mean no one will take him? Even with his prodigious talent? I wonder why...
I'm not a fan of the whole good old boy baseball shit, but I think that its pretty obvious that Puig is the asshole here. In
The World According to Goff, however, whitey is persecuting him and because he needs to be having fun to do his job well, he's bad.
