Mac since we are on the subject of optics do you think it is appropriate to show a gif that has a picture of an ape while engaging in dialogue with an African American?

Didn't even take a page for JLN and LTG to shit up Mac's thread. That's some historic shit posting efficiency.

I've engaged in nor responded to neither of LTG's thread derailment attempts this morning.

To the extent that you can tell us, what did Bernstein and Goff do that defied or informed these orders? Was it that they were not having fun and not doing the show they've traditionally done? Or was it simply being alarmed that hosts so repeatedly and enthusiastically told listeners not to listen?

Mac I do wish you the best with new endeavor. Sports talk radio in Chicago has been weak for a long time. You're definitely an upgrade over what currently passes for talent in the City. Like others on here i go back to the COS days. The "Juan from Skokie" bit still cracks me up. I also used to like when Boers would come on the show. Those were some of the funniest moments for me. His Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde act used to trip me out. I'd listen to him on COS and he'd be cracking jokes and being funny as hell then I'd catch him on the Sportswriters and he'd be super serious. Wish you well regardless of the differing views on show content.

3. I never have blocked anybody on Twitter. A member of the board blocked me Friday. Apparently, not replying to his DM about shoulder surgery quickly enough, coupled with calling Danny by his nickname "Parko" offended his sensibilities. With skin so thin, he should get a sports radio job!

There is a way to delve into a bit of politics and a way not to do so. Your new partner knows how to do it where he can state his opinion, say why he has it, and then move on to something else. He's a pro, what else can you say about him?

The newly demoted midday host had no clue how to do this. If there was a social issue he wanted to talk about, it would dominate nearly a week on his show and drive people up the dial.

IF you'd bother to call out the perpetual victim then there wouldn't be a need for me to do it. Don't call the proverbial double tech. When he does his deal which he always does then call him on it. The First Time

Also, if we can agree that DeCastro would be in hot water if it got out he told the new hosts explicitly to "stick to sports" (or some variation thereof), he can still task them with putting on a show while sticking to sports, without saying so outright. If, say, he knows Mac likes to have fun and stay away from harping on political/societal/rapey issues, a directive to "do your kind of show" carries almost the exact same intent and weight as a "stick to sports" edict would, right?

I don't know shit about Twitter, but as far as this board IMU is just maintaining his self-styled "brand" of being a smarmy little prick. Kid is one of the most insecure posters here. Nice listen this week, Mac.

Thanks for the facts on "stick to sports", although the Goff fanboys on Facebook are going to lose their minds over you saying that.

Remember the old line about how there were only 18,000 Blackhawks fans in Chicago but they were all in the Stadium every night? There are only 5,000 Jason Goff superfans but they're all extremely on Facebook and Twitter.

Why would he be in hot water telling his employees of a sports talk station to "stick to sports"?

Old, white management telling a freshly-hired old, white, talent to "stick to sports" after firing a younger, black talent who proudly didn't "stick to sports" would get DeCastro, WSCR and Entercom absolutely torched by a large segment of media.

Nonsense. He can tell all employees that it is a sports station and management wants them to stick to sports. If the employees
don't like it, they are free to move on.

"Stick to sports" is a loaded phrase associated with MAGA and white supremacy (p.s., if you think it was an accident that Dan referred to Hawks fans as "hockey supremacists," you really just fell off the turnip truck). You don't tell people to stick to sports unless you're ready for everything that implies about you.

Wait a second. I heard Parkins read a text to you from a listener about how this went down. You did say what you described here. That you were hired for fun and to be good in the hallways. But you also said that DeCastro told you there was too much social issue talk. Or something like that. I'm paraphrasing. Then Parkins said that he will still talk about social issues if he feels like it. And you said to him "Then you'll be talked to by management"

Plus DeCastro mentioned the social issue talk in an article. That he was aware of the blogs. Meaning this board.

This sounds like a walk back directed by DeCastro. And even DeCastro is mad at himself for letting that slip in the article.

Beardown: I can have the court reporter read back the transcript of what you said to Danny Parkins on the air.

Mac: I don't need it read back to me. Sometimes hosts take matters into their own hands...

Beardown: That's not what you said. You said DeCastro gives orders and hosts follow them or radio hosts die.

Mac: You son of a bitch!!!!

Beardown: Did DeCastro order the code read on "Social Issues talk" on the SCORE?

Mac: YOU'RE GOD DAMN RIGHT HE DID!!!!!

Beardown:  The witness is excused. Dan McNeil has rights.

I for one,am glad you're back. I hope that you and Parkins can possibly gain the level of success or even a fraction of it that you had with the MJH show.

It's nice to hear a sports fan back on the radio. That seemed to be missing for quite some time now.

It sucks that it is taboo because it really is a nice looking flag, as far as flags go.

I'm looking forward to the first real on air skirmish between Mac and Parkins. That's when I'll know if the show has a chance of some longevity. If they can disagree hardcore and maintain respect & the conversation I'm going to love this show. I already like what I've heard so welcome back Mac.
