That "burger" looks like someone surgically split a dick down it's length and slapped it on a bun with some relish.

that's a fucking travesty!

That place is amazing...if you can even get a table.

what burger is that in the picture? Doesn't look like something I would order, but I'm sure its delicious like everything else there.

?? I heard about this on the Danny Mac show.

Some of the places on that poll aren't even in Chicago, the one that's winning is mostly not in the state.

Not my pic, but I believe it's named after the San Diego doom metal band 'Goblin Cock'. Image
I usually order the 'Melvins' or 'Iron Maiden' with whatever Lagunita's or Unibroue or Bell's they have on draft and a side of whiskey. Good place to drink.

KUMA HIGHLY Overrated!

Its a Good Burger but not much better than even Bar Louie! The difference is that Bar Louie doesnt try to force me into Jalapenos and smoked sausage on my burger, while I get insulted by some tatted freak who I would only like to see her HIV test while I wait for 40 minutes for the burger.

Must've been a big NWI contingent voting on that poll since Schoop's won. Pretty tasty burger. I once worked at Schoop's. I'm happy for me.....that I'm not working there anymore, that is.

I never heard of Schoop's until I clicked on the poll, now I wanna drive to Indiana and try em. Wonder if there's a particular location that's better than the others.

And if you can't specify how the burger's cooked (rare/medium/well/etc), it shouldn't be on a best of list. Places like Shake Shake in Madison Square Park in NY, Hodad's on Ocean Beach in San Diego or Poag Mahone's across from Cal's in the South Loop--all make best burger lists and yet none of them let you specify how the burger's cooked.

There's one on Torrence Ave. in Cal City as well, just north of Pulaski. There's nothing that amazing about Schoop's really. It's just a burger 'n fry joint, but they have a very distinct taste. They're made fresh of course and I think you can still get them how you want them. They're cooked so that the edges kind of bristle and flake off the edges. It's a rather large patty that is bigger than the bun. The original one in Munster still has that 1950's diner feel to it.

Strangly enough.... I saw the Melvins open for KISS (I want to say at the Peoria Civic Center)....We now return you to your regulary scheduled food thread.

I suppose there's nothing really amazing about Schoop's, but it does feature a damn delicious burger. Fucking huge too. They have a double and a triple, but I've never ordered either. I might have to head over there pretty soon.

Your taking Mac to task today for his feelings about Erin Andrews is somewhat inconsistent with making a joke about an alleged sexual assault.

I think there is a Shoop's in Hickory Hills: 95th Street just west of the Tri State before Roberts Road.

I wasn't a fan, so I never went back and I don't know if it's still there.

For some tasty BBQ however, drive another 3 blocks to the Hickory Pit on Roberts Road.

Being in Woodfield or eating a Mexican Turkey Burger?

Agree on both counts.

Turkey meat is healthier of course. It was a regular Mex-Burger. They allow you to replace it with Turkey meat. Nice touch.

My office is about 3 blocks from Kuma's. I have been there for a Burger at around 1:45 and it still takes close to 30 minutes to get a Burger and the smoke from the grill is terrible.

Plus when I ordered my Bacon Cheeseburger I got a "Living on the edge" from the waitress. Its a good burger, but better marketing

Explain this one to me Magellan as I went to public school? Never took Mac to task for what he was saying about Erin Andrews as I could give a fuck about her and her boobies , I took him to task for backing off his stance about telling Spiegs he would not whore himself out. Proof reading is a skill ........

BigFan, you are unreal. If you didn't admit that your office was in a low rent district, your initial post re: Kuma's would have led me to further assume that you were a Carter Pewterschmidt type of guy.

Bigfan likes his burgers served to him by a sweaty overweight guy (bloody apron incl.) who keeps his thumb on the bun so it doesn't fall on the floor again....

as far as her remark about living on the edge...that cracks me up more than anything.
having full sleeves of bad ink does not qualify you as one who lives on the edge.
