All these different partners feel like tryouts for a new show. Is something going on?

Scorehead, if you want to contribute to this thread please make it something other than Speigel sucks and you'd be glad if he would be replaced blah blah blah.

Just vacations. Nothing to see here.

Greenstein is my least favorite of the fill ins, especially since it causes no transition. :x
Everyone else that's filled in is fine by me.

The vacation stuff is fine but why not just have 1 or 2 fill ins, why all the variety? That's why it feel auditiony to me. To go Beardown for a minute maybe that's why Mac and Terry had that tiff about Goff. Maybe Goff is being put in as a host and Mac doesn't want that.

Goff will get his own gig eventually, but I doubt he will replace anyone current, unless Terry retires, which is a distinct possibility.

If this is true, then Mac misled us about pushing to get Goff more air time. I don't think that is the case. I do agree that multiple fill ins throughout the week is unsettling for me as a listener. then again, I listen every day. I am not sure if the average listener cares as much as a bunch of goofs on a board devoted (in between circle jerks) to sports talk and the like.

It kinda sucked today without transition, but Terry & Dan B. have had issues with the Trib's Teddy Greenstein dating back to when Mac was on the other station.

I can guarantee you it will return tomorrow when Goff and Mac's buddy Pat Vanderwall (Oak Park Vandy) sit in for Spiegs, and like him or not, Laurence Holmes sits in for Spiegs Thursday & Friday. Keep in mind this is usually a sponsored segment, and I'm sure Bob Rohrman's not pleased that transition didn't happen today.

Don't worry, Johnny...Rohrman sponsors "Terry's Roar of the Day" during "B & B" come 5:30p today, but we don't hear the lion roar anymore! What's up with that?

Thank god. I don't know what I'd do without a Bob Rohrman commercial.

So would they put Goff with Bernstein or Goff with Mac and Bernstein with a new partner? Where does Speigel fit in to all this?

Why doesn't Drinky get put in Mac's rotation. Why Goff and not Drinky? Hmmmmmm.

Mac should ride with both of them for a week during Spiegel's next vacation. Mac will whiten them up and Debernsify them. After a week with Mac, Goff and Drinky will both have a desire to smoke marlboros, live in Indiana, quote movies, grill and travel to college football towns for games.

That does kind of surprise me that he hasn't been paired with Mac. They are pretty good friends and all. :?

If Mac and Spiegs continue to have good ratings, why would you break them up?

I have always thought I'd like Mac with drinky.

Your idea sucks. You need a place for OPV. The four man booth would be too much. :P

The show is not very good.

Anybody have the ratings? I thought they were close with W&S.

That's a good question, guys. As far as I know, mark the date of Friday, August 27th. That's the day when Bernsy & Mac actually switch places for the day. Spiegs & Bernsy hold court between 9a-1p that Friday in the "Danny Mac Show's" time slot, while Mac & Boers work the "Bud Light Who Needs Two? Tavern Tour", I believe at Bar Louie in Naperville between 1-6p.

As for Goff, I think he deserves to get more airtime as a host, but I'm not so sure SCORE Program Director Mitch Rosen will give Jason or Matt Abbatacola a full-time gig during the week. Let's not forget who's standing in their way...You know...

Bears' Head Coach Lovie Smith: "Laurence...Laurence...Laurence..."

Goff has obviouly passed Drinky on the "next in line" list based on air time. I haven't heard Drinky in a long time. Plus Goff has become the bogus "basketball expert". Now he's competing with Larry. Mitch still might give Larry another shot at primetime. That being said, I think the Score's daypart is set for 2 or 3 more years.

We joke about Terry retiring but why the hell would he? He's making good money and does his show from home 3 days a week. He's got the best deal in Chicago radio. Plus he doesn't even have to be good cuz Bernstein carries the show. He should be fired but I don't think Mitch will do it.

Last I heard, the Score was beating MVP in each of the 3 days shows. If that's still the case, why change anything?

Cmon, SHARK, you give us every other piece of radio and TV minutia, let's have the ratings!

Come on, I can't make a little joke? I think OPV should be on the radio. I think he is better than drinky.

If what you said about Terry is true then they might be testing Berns and Speigel next week. Haven't you guys said Terry is not in the best of health and what is he 60?

I can't remember if they've beat W&S by a wide margin or not.

I dunno. You seem a little taken with OPV. Is he a good looking gent?

Terry doens't have anything life threatening. It's just aches and pains. That bastard will live to 100.

If the plan is to replace Terry with Drinky, Goff or Larry then I'd acually prefer Terry to stay. The best option would be to let Bernstein go solo

His dad and his brother are cuter.

Honestly, I have always liked him on the radio but I think he makes Mac better. I really like Mac as a host when he is interested, focused, and participating.

I don't know. I've heard Goff call Bernsie on some of his crap while producing. His input into the show is much, much more now than, say 2-3 years ago. I don't think he'd be a Bernstein lover like LoHo.

Sometimes that's all it takes. I mean Spiegel's voice is far less annoying than Waddle's or Silvy's.
