Mark Schanowsky in with Speigs.

The highlight of hour one was the Wainwright injury news and a brilliant call from Steve in Elmhurst.

Hour 2 featured plenty of hoops talk, both college and pro.

Spiegel is so bad. Wow.

Do we really need 20 minutes of Spiegel talking down to an intern for not doing things like he wants? Spiegel, you don't even have your own name on the show you are on. Tone down the "I'm big time" attitude.

I believe one of his exact quotes was "You could spend more time trying to figure out what you can do to help me".

Hour 3 had Presidential facial hair talk and Speigs taking an intern to task on air.

I found it very uncomfortable. He actually brought the intern on the air to air his grievances and to explain to him the "value" of getting him his lunch.

It was something I'd expect from Harry.

I could only listen to about 4 minutes of this show before my head exploded and I went to music. Meat is just a god awful excuse for a radio host.

I've held off on the Meatpants bashfest that's been going on here since he arrived. I think I've given him more than a fair chance. That said, he's terrible. I mean really, really bad at radio. That coupled with Mac's hatred for basketball and I'm finding it difficult to listen to more than one show a week....

I'm a big fan of Mac, but recently I've found myself turning in at 12:30 or 1:00 in preparation for the transition which I normally enjoy. Maybe it's because football season is over or maybe it's something else.

I like Meat. I thought the show the otherday with him & Jason talking baseball (only part I caught) was very listenable. To each's own I guess.

That had more to do with Jason, IMO. But yeah, people like different things.

I've just grown tired of Meats act already, and he hasn't even been on that long. He tries to be Mac Jr. too often for my taste...

Another thing I just noticed.

Normally, when someone is filling in they say "You are listening to Boers and Bernstein, with Laurence Holmes guest hosting".

Spiegel just said this as he was leaving to a break:
"It's Spiegel and Mark Schanowski on The Score".

I'm sure he called it "The Danny Mac Show" before but it's an interesting difference.

Come up for some air and let your co-host speak is my biggest bitch today . Thought the show was too much Spiegs and not enough someone , anyone else. Shows the vaule of Mac and his talents to fly the plane when he is there.

I think it does bother him that his name still isn't officialy attached to the show, and likely never will be...

To be fair, he just called it the Danny Mac Show, but it was part of a required read from a sheet that included a sponsorship.

Is it a good thing for Sepigs that his co-hosts consistently outshine him?

Just so you know, Spiegs' "Hit & Run" partner on Sunday mornings, the Daily Herald's Barry Rozner sits in tomorrow from 9a-1p, with Goff getting a third show Friday morning while Mac is away.

What are your thoughts on Spiegel SHARK?

He's not as annoying as Harry when Mac was down the dial...I think that's why when Mac rejoined The SCORE in 2009, he wanted someone he felt could drive the show when he's away. I don't find Spiegs as annoying as some, Rick.

Matt is okay as a second guy.

He is horrendous at driving the show.

Good show today, didn't want to turn it off. Sure Schanowsky has less charisma than Waddle, but it was nice to hear a clear/direct answer when asked NBA questions, as opposed to Boers...

Yes and the fact they only gave Elmhurst Steve 7 seconds to ask a question and hung up on him made it a good show . :P

Mark Schanowsky was real good today. Stepped in and mixed it up when Meat was wrong. He should be added to the sub list.

The show was all basketball talk early so I turned it off. I did turn it back on to hear Jim Callis give Speigs a bitch slap on how an organization should use their minor league system. That was fun.
