Had the show on for a bit today, and in between all of the lawyer press conferences.....Spiegs was explaining that he felt lawyers play a vital role in society (because they were criticizing all of the "look at me, I'm on TV!" moments these lawyers have been having) - anyway, he said that a divorce lawyer helped him greatly in is life - but then quickly corrected himself and said "not recently".

95% of the reps I deal with are attractive females that couldn't charge an iPad. Their sole job is to get an IT guy on the phone picturing her boobs and set up a call with an engineer about whatever product she's slinging. It's a delight to watch.

This is why Speigel and Goff are a horrible listen; they're not honest. You want me to come back and listen to your twitter fights and the non sports stuff - then be honest. You can't talk about a wife in every other sentence and then never mention her again, only to move on talking about being on a dating site. I don't want all the gruesome details, but if you want to connect with your audience, you have to be honest, especially when you spend half the time on your personal lives and not on sports. You want me to care? - tell the whole thing and I'll be more willing to give you a break on the laughing, desk pounding, and twitter recaps.

My guess is that you are right, but all Matt has to do (or should have done) is said that many people had reach out, and he wanted to clear the air, that he and the wife are separated, that the kid is fine , and they're moving on, and thank everyone for the thoughts and concern ( even if no one expressed them and if he doesn't care about what listeners think). You put that out there and you get people on your side - even for a brief moment.

It's as if he only wants happy talk and thoughts radio - so he'll tell all the funny little anecdotes about the kid or his drunken escapes, but skip over the rough stuff - and that only serves for people to ask questions and feel that he is not a honest guy - and when that happens, people turn off if they think you're not trustworthy ( if the giggling and desk pounding hadn't chased them away earlier).

His personal life is not necessarily relevant to the show. But he does make it part of the show, so naturally listeners have interest. Matty and biscuit Tweet a lot of stuff, so clearly they are comfortable putting their personal lives onto the web. So to that extent, I think it's fair game to discuss.

I agree, I think Matt is making a mistake having his kid as his avatar on Twitter. Just nothing good happens from that.
