Mac has immense talent, but he is disengaged, uninspired and uninterested. Goff has thus far proven correct about Mac, who in his current incarnation amounts to nothing more than a dinosaur toiling in a dying medium. Depressingly, Mac seems at peace with this scenario, content to be writing his own professional epitaph as the glory days of a once-great radio station fade deeper into the recesses of the city's collective memory.

Mac sounds uninterested when it's not football season? Well, not like Stevie Wonder could have seen that coming or anything.

Mac's football acumen is immensely overrated. He doesn't seem to watch the games particularly closely, and thus his commentary is restricted to the blandest of cliches.

Wasn't a big part of Mac's success his interaction with callers? The show never seems to take calls.

Isn’t that fine though? Unless you are a super serious fantasy guy or bettor I think it is. I prefer the show that sounds like guys shooting the breeze over a group of statistics nutjobs.

You are right but that seems to be an evolution hue to access that has yet to circle back around.

The first part of this post might be correct but I don't think the post in it's entirety is. He doesn't use cliches often. He talks about line play specifically, not in cliches, from the game in question. His analysis may not be the most elaborate, but he does watch the games and he's able to talk intelligently about them the following day.
