Ogie is right about this past season TM. I am optimistic that his rejuvenation is real and this will be a great football season with Mac and Parkins. If not, then it is what it is but another season of Bernsie basically shitting on stuff was not going to work for me.

I think it's important to note that those shows were de facto auditions for Mac. He needed a contract and was going to do everything in his power to secure a nice payday. Will Mac maintain such a level of urgency now that his position at the Score has been secured? Recent history suggests this won't be the case.

It started with the decline of B&B but I just can't get excited about sports radio any more. Maybe football season will bring it back.

The only show I generally enjoy now is The Dan Patrick Show but I think it's enhanced on television and easy to have on in the background.

Truer words couldn't be spoken (except the Dan Patrick part - I tire easily of national shows). WSCR has been living on past success for at least the past 10 years. Weekly segments like "Who Ya Crappin!" lasting nearly 30 years shows laziness and a lack of creativity!

Chicago is the 3rd largest market, but no WSCR personalities even register on the national scene. What a joke! :pale: :puker: :pukel:

I cannot remember the last time I heard Gentry or Mongo on the air. Wanstedt drivel? He is one of the best football guests on the air on either station. If you can't enjoy his spots, that says more about you than anything.

As far as the rest of your post, I say again selective hearing. I'm not arguing if the show is good or bad, I'm simply stating- correctly- that just about everything you posted about the show is wrong, FJBlack.

I agree Wanndestat offers very good insight into the game.
I'm referring to stories from Mac about Gentry, Mongo, and Wanny. Stories of Fred Caito, Tony Wise, and Doug Plank are no longer relevant. Mac has turned into Chet. He just doesn't know it yet. Or, maybe he does and needs the money. Selling trucks isn't as easy as it looks.

Not going to happen. Mac has no real show prep. He doesn't watch enough games. He has no energy or desire to. I don't blame Mac. If someone is willing to pay; why not take the money?

Mac popped a viagra, pumped a few good ones, and DeCastro thought Mac became a stud again. But, DeCastro didn't notice Mac's blood red eyes and five hour erection while they danced the night away. Sixteen weeks later and DeCastro has just figured out why Mac can't give it to him every day like he did that glorious night in the bathroom stall at Gibson's.

Old, bad, homogenized, MAGA crap. :pukel:

lol nobody on the station has the balls to even hint at some kind of non-ironic usage of MAGA... of course they'd claim they're "too smart" for MAGA to work on them, but even if people had the slightest of leaning towards anything that could be associated with MAGA they'd never ever let it slip.... too much is at stake!

hell hath no fury...

plus this is a parkins show we're talking about, and mac has enough "happy to be here" vibe/s in him to cheerfully go along with parkins' status quo.... ergo the whole "he's the captain i'm the copilot" mentality proclaimed since day 1. plus, honestly, even tho i was never an avid mac listener i can't say that i've ever gleamed any political opinions from him over the last 15+ years.... how weird... clearly i haven't listened closely enough =P

I've not listened much these last 16 weeks, I have been gone a lot and when I am at the office I have mostly been in 9:30 to after 6 and put on baseball on xm on the drive home.

But I am off the road for work travel the rest of the month so I will be working more 7-4. Looking forward to Terry guest hosting, and let's see what Mac has left in the tank besides being likable.
