If RBG needs to be replaced by another woman, Mac needs to be replaced by a gay man.

Parkins only worked as a #2 guy to Mac. He's not interesting, doesn't have a great radio voice or personality while being too verbose. I don't know how you make the show better by throwing in mediocre rehashed Spiegel. That doesn't get you any closer to a championship.

The guy I've always been impressed with is Big Cat Williams. He's very well spoken. I'd like to see him get a try-out, if he'd be interested.

North and Big Cat would be my "Dream Team." Always loved North with Buffone.

Just tell mcdoink to go trans and youd get the same zero sum contribution on air as rahimi.

He would probably do it.

Really riveting gambling segment right now. Rahimi is very lost. Parkins letting her have it, as he should. If they decide on this pairing, this show would be the worst show in the city.

Yeah she might be very good on a station in Indianapolis.

Heard a little bit on the ride home. Rahimi's voice expression is horrible. Like nails on a chalkboard horrible. I hope they do pair her with Parkins. I would listen just to here Parkins frustration.

Hell bring back Julie and let them sandwich him in the middle. The Score has never been so pathetic.

At this point they could probably pull someone out of that media school Jay Zawaski does ads for and find someone far more interesting than the current score lineup.

No need to fool around with the Parkins trainwreck. Listened to W & S for an hour and it was great radio. Ricky blunder, NFL games, tv viewing, Donavon, good phone calls, no sjw. None of Parkins sjw bs claiming he would be derelict in his duties if he didn't stray off sports and force his social opinions on listeners.

Was pointless to even have Rahimi “tryout.” Spiegal is miles ahead of her, but the delay she had from wherever she was zooming/phoning/whatevering in just made the whole thing sound like a herky-jerky mess. No flow whatsoever.

I am in town for the weekend to visit my dad, and my god that was horrible radio. And Parko knew it and threw her under the bus.

I'd expect better radio from a high school station.

Rahimi: "I grew up a Cowboys fan, I'm saying it'll be Seahawks -5. I'm freaking terrible at this. I think the Cowboys beat the Seahawks. They're going to win and cover."

Parkins: "So you have Cowboys +5?"

Rahimi: "Yeaaahhhh. Yes. I'm just so terrible at this."

She seems like a super nice person but I'll feel very bad for Parkins if she gets the gig. Parkins is most like himself with Spiegs than Mac or anybody else. He's relaxed and happy.

She has a good personality and likes sports and can talk. Her learning about gambling lines and such could provide plenty of additional content and laughs. Imagine if Jules were on for that segment. She would have no fucking clue what she was talking about and then would turn into satan bitch mode when Parkins dared to "mansplain" anything to her. Over time, its the differences that make good 2 person radio, not the similarities.

I listened to segments of Parkins/Spiegel and Parkins/Rahimi yesterday and it is a night and day difference in terms of quality. Rahimi offers very little in why I listen to sports talk radio. I have little interest in listening to a Parkins/Rahimi show and besides listening to the occasional Bernstein hour based on the guest, I wouldn't listen to the Score much more anymore. If they run with that show you have to question the Score's intentions because it wouldn't be them wanting to air the best show. Thankfully, there are great podcasts on whatever topics you are interested in. The Athletic puts out numerous podcasts every week for your sports fix.

Maybe they use her for the last hour of Bernstein and the first hour of Leery.

That makes sense. I understand the station wanting diversity in their hosts but the Score needs a flag ship, afternoon show. While Parkins and Spiegel wouldn't have the gravitas of Mac and Parkins, it is the best combination from the options and easily better than anything on 1000.

Leila is not very good. It’s that simple. I’m not a gambler and could do without any gambling talk but it was painful to hear how bad she handled the over/under and picking against the spreads.

But it’s not just that. She doesn’t offer anything unique? What is her strong suit? Which sport is her calling card?

I know you can’t pick the voice you’re born with but she is not an engaging listen in any way.

Any other choice than Spiegel would be inexcusable at this point

I think they're going to go back to Bernstein in afternoon drive.

Silvy is a good interviewer. Waddle is as vanilla as it gets. The concussed former Bear routine is beyond played out.

He needs the right cohost. Bernstein is still one of the most talented hosts around but he needs a strong, non-analytics based partner. I would enjoy Bernstein and Parkins but that is too polished, left, and urban for mass success. A guy like Mac was the perfect partner for those kind of guys. A guy like Kaplan or Haugh, not suggesting either specifically, is the right kind of cohost for them.

My suspicion is that it ends up being Bernstein and Holmes, who I suppose are the two most tenured people at the Score now, and who have a long history of working together (though usually with horrific results, as chronicled by this message board). They're also the two people Mitch is most loyal to. So I can see it being kind of a panic move to put them together in afternoons and give the core audience what they're most used to.

I don't see them letting Parkins go, and I don't see Parkins allowing himself to be demoted to middays. Maybe he'd do mornings, but I don't know if he'd be able to get his pot-addled ass up in time for a 6am slot.

I think the big question is whether Bernstein would be willing to consider going to 6-9am. If so, you fire one of Mully or Haugh and either let Bernstein go with a producer-heavy show or somebody like Grote who understands mornings and keep things lighter.

Whoever you don't fire from M&H you move to 9-12 and put Rahimi with them, let LoHo go 12-3 if it won't interfere with his DePaul classes, and have Parkins go 3-6. Let Speigs come in once a week (like Tuesdays) with Parkins as well as being the official sixth man for the entire daytime lineup.
