Sun Times reporting Parkins is definitely leaving the Score.

This is a huge win for Chicago sports radio listeners. 7½ years of pure agony over!

I still don't understand why a national show would want him, but what does this mean for the Score lineup?

Rahimi able to fill in on both shows despite her full time job? Some other female?
Haugh moving to afternoons?
Spiegs still safe?
Any other shakeups?

I want to like Herron but he he is boring. Have an overnight show of he and Payton and sell it as a cure for insomnia

He seems fixable. Not every thought needs a dissertation.

I would say that Senor must be humbled by some kid coming in and graduating to national TV after 8 years of thoroughly unremarkable hosting, but I think he's completely checked out.

The ambition left when he got forced/pushed to evolve. He's only human. When you voluntarily lose your edge, you start pretending your edge is still there, but it's in a safer place. Most of us would do the same thing.

It's so funny when you think about what pushed him to evolve, like what was this bold fearless stance that he could no longer take, and it was the time he got suspended for saying the Blackhawks ran a train on Cheryl Scott because he resented having to cover hockey.

But that's the edge. There's not much edge in 'mediocre white man'. There's a vast difference between a parachutist, which he is now, and DB Cooper, which he was then. He woke up one morning and realized he had a lot to lose. It's fine. I get it. But there's a cost to the compromising.

Pair Bernstein with Speigel or Grote.

The Score better not bring Goff back. He is an unlistenable racist who offers nothing interesting. I am sure Laurence wants the afternoon gig, but he has to know that he is very lucky to be on middays. Of course, maybe he is completely unaware of how bad he is.

If Bernstein has any juice left in his battery, he will campaign for the spot.

They'll put Bernstein and Holmes back in afternoons, Spiegel in middays, and then you're basically looking at a 2009 schedule with Hanley, Mac, and Boers on vacation.

Good for Parkins. I think he did a nice job in his time here. I wouldn't think a role in front of a camera would be his best medium, but more experienced programmers seem to think differently.

Leila would be the obvious choice for an expanded role in some shift. She has to be making sub six figures for her tv gig so a score promotion would be a raise. She probably doesn't want to lose her loose connection to tv until tv retires her. If she leaves, tv isn't welcoming her back.

Speigs is the cuck of Score hosts. He'll go wherever he is told after someone takes his shift, even if he is pouty for a couple of months.

This sucks coming right on the doorstep of the football season. I like B and H exactly where they are, quarantined from me ever hearing their show. The economics should dictate they get moved to afternoon drive. Luckily, this time of year I'm usually not getting to the car before 5:45.

I would have preferred Bernstein and Parkins together in afternoons, as Parkins is the only one with the balls to challenge Bernstein (even if they’d agree on a lot).

Bernstein could've had a job with ESPN decades ago, but he passed up the opportunity because he didn't want to live in Connecticut.

Leila is probably the candidate to watch even though she just left the full time radio show to host it more part time than she probably did full time.

I will stick with my thoughts that they were test driving a new afternoon show recently with Bernstein and Meatpants. They will keep Larry and Leila in the mid day and on the days when Leila has to be gone they will have Larry solo or bring in Herron or someone like that occasionally. It will be a big savings in the money department as they will not have to fill Parkins spot.

Leila is by far the worst the Score has to offer.

When is anyone going to talk about how lazy Parkins is being? He could have easily done both jobs. Leaving us before the start of a multiple Super Bowl winning run is unforgivable.

Congratulations!

So is Parkins following the Mike Greenberg path, or the path Chet took going to NYC because he thought he was too big for Chicago and finding out that he was nothing in NYC?

Hopefully they keep the two woke monsters B&L together and not spread their message of hate and break them up. Spiegel has to be ecstatic to have the sword of damocles gone that was hanging over his career. He'd be a good match with Herron or Grote not dealing with a high school debating champion anymore.

Did this happen? I remember him getting a few fill in gigs and there was some board chatter, similar to what happened with the monsters, but nothing offered.

As long as Dan is freed from larry I'll be happy. So will he. And if the added bonus is the Larry and Leila midday show, terrific. I'll know to never tune in between 10 and 2.

Smart of Parkins to jump from radio, which is a dying industry. Even though cable TV is dwindling in viewership, a show like what he would likely have on FS1 would still end up distributing 2 minute clips on things like Reels and YT Shorts to keep money rolling in as cords get cut.

Bernsie must be pissed because Danny getting to do what Bernsie always dreamed of for his career. Meanwhile Bernsie is stuck with a dwindling bag that gets smaller and smaller with each contract negotiation as there is no money left in local radio.

It doesn't matter to him, he's been a chiefs fan all his life.

Right after the Hawks won the Cup in 2015, he tweeted that they celebrated their win by passing Cheryl Scott around the dressing room instead of the cup, then he got yelled at Jerry Taft and didn't show up to work the next day.

This was only the second-most misogynistic comment a Score host made after the Blackhawks won a championship.

Parkins will no longer have to fake his Bears fandom for a national audience, good for him. I'm so glad he won't be here for it.

Never a good thing when your best host leaves, or that Parkins was their best host to begin with.
