I heard it too...and i've heard Mac do it before and it doesn't bother me.

I order my guitar parts online.
Did the customer first criticize the employee on his job performance because he didn't "like it."

entertainment is subjective to the viewer.

Anyway, yeah its thin skinned. But whatever.

My point was that;

Mac: "Don't like it, PTFB!"
Bernsie: "No. You're an idiot. I can't believe you just said that."
Terry: "Bwuhahaha"

Are all very similar in my book. Mac gets blasted much more so than B&B do in that regard.

I'm 22 and I don't really get much of his references. Whenever he starts talking about movies or bad music, it's channel switching time.

I like Mac himself, but I find the pop culture references to be pretty poor. Of course, Spiegel doesn't help with that either.

Goes back to what I said about an employee berating another customer in the store you're in. If you saw an employee berate another customer at your favorite guitar show would you think about finding another place to buy your parts?

Mac has always been very thin skinned. His arrogance is what I find funny though. He really is becoming north junior. One thing north does that Mac doesn't, is hustle. Mac is just plain lazy.

When he was on ESPN I remember him constantly throwing compliments on Jurko because of how well The Good Kid handled criticism, evern said he was the best he's ever seen about it. You'd think if Mac was such a fan of it he'd be better at it, but then you get to the "be what you are" stuff and it gets dismissed.

I think Mac is somewhat the norm as radio personalities go. They know that they have to be thick skinned to a point, but when criticism gets intense, their displeasure bubbles up. B&B, on the other hand, do not fucking care in the least what anyone thinks of them, including listeners, management, sponsors, columnists, etc. So, compared to B&B, EVERYONE seems thin-skinned.

if being confrontational is a thing...and not caring is a thing...
then, both shows do the job well.

thanks for listening.

AKA "The Mackage"

I would never expect anyone to like everything Mac does, I don't think Mac would ever think so.

I think pick 3 kinda sucks and being that Mac is a short term investor, I just think a much better contest could be developed. One that could feature some of the better 'Cappers!

A guy like SP Mack, who is 51-35 ATS!!!!!!!! Documented! or Terrys Peeps at 47-37!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only one guy on the station makes me PTFB.

The problem with his lack of basketball talk for me is the utter disdain that he shows for the sport. It is acceptable to be ignorant of a sport (which Mac is with regards to basketball) yet still be considered a sports fan. It is quite another to constantly condemn it and express how bored you are by it which Mac constantly does. I have listened to Mac for years (going back to the Coppock on Sports days) and do not have a strong dislike for him as a host but as a basketball fan moreso i find him to be an increasingly tough listen. Whether he believes it or not basketball is a major sport that requires a mention every so often. The Bulls barring injury will be much more interesting to watch than the Bears but the amount of attention paid to them will be customarily minuscule. Instead we will be inundated with the usual February talk regarding the job status or lack thereof of Lovie Smith and Jerry Angelo, with the usual references as to how much he dislikes basketball.

Suggesting that I'm telling listeners to "fuck off" is a quantum leap. In the future, I'll soften it a little. Something like "I appreciate your giving us a try, but you've expressed your displeasure with the non-sports topics we're offering. Please feel free to punch the fucking button at your leisure."

I'm going to be better informed and engaged regarding hoops this season.

Darkside, you know I'd never big time you.... unless I'm going on vacation four weeks after starting a new gig.

Mac,

There's a good percentage of negative bullshit about your show here. Some good advice is being provided as well. You're smart enough to figure out the difference.

I do value the input, Drop In. And I'll accept the negative stuff as willingly as the "ALS" stuff. I don't need to be loved.... just listened to.

Fair enough. I just want to make sure you're aware there are some diamonds in the pile of steaming dung. Everyone can improve, and many people don't have a dumb message board questioning everything they say to assist. Keep it up.

Given that Mac's current show is saddled with an overly syncophantic (wish Spiegel would mix in some of the aggression he lets out in transition on lil Danny B when it's just he and Mac) and extremely phony partner (I'd like Spiegs better if he were honest about his love for all things Boston sports related first over his adopted hometown of Chicago) and a time-slot that doesn't work well for Mac getting out and working his Macig on listeners in person and that Mac likely feels underpaid (but not undercompensated, hence all the holiday time) relative to the other first-line sports talk radio talent in Chicago...it's a testament to Mac being either a natural or an extremely experienced/competent professional at what he does that he's able to best Waddle and Silvy in the ratings almost without bothering to get out of bed.

It's a good thing too since Mac won't get out of bed for less than $250,000 and he's on that recession contract.

And how he used to say it made the B&B show worse for caring about basketball (I'd look it up, but I'm sure it has been pruned.) Of course now, the B&B show is just dandy to him, but that really rubbed me the wrong way many moons ago and I guess I still get the red ass about it. Out of all the Mac complaints, the one long time guy brings up resonates the most with me. I think he is an OK guy who is making the slow and steady journey to Dahlism. I listen to the show, but I am pretty much a "hear commercial, push button" station jumper anyhow so I am sure that I am not the type of person that either sports outlet cares to cater to.

Then again, Mac, maybe my wife's pussy picture scared you off!

That was one of the funniest things I remember from that night.
Like two days before, my wife hit her 100th post, and posted a female version of our Board Staple "Dick Picture".
So we're at nellies... that was a point where Mac, Doug, Eaglo, Myself, sjboyd and maybe Spaulding were at a table on the deck upstairs, and DW (my wife) turns to Mac and says..."Mac, did you see my pussy picture?"
Macs eyes just went bugeyed.
All conversation stopped.
It was high comedy.
