W&S is best afternoon drive show in Chicago. Probably habit that he flipped to 1000AM on his drive home.

It's definitely Mac's continuation of the "NBA sucks and the NHL is great" convo that he started last week, I just like the way that he used Rogers and Waddle on the station down the dial as a way of saying it sucks without having to call out his own teammates for the same thing.

Yeah, I guess that's true, too.

Mac has always had a fondness for satellite radio. I think, given the right circumstances, he'd jump at it. Maybe four days a week, potentially less pay. Gets to work from home, spend more time with family and have more radio freedom. He think he envies Howard's setup, but pay isn't the top priority.

Who would listen? The sat market is smaller than the terrestrial market. No one outside of the five counties gives a shit about mac. People paying for sports talk might want more than fart jokes, 70's rock and grilling tips.
What plays at the score won't play on sat.

The NBA is fucking fixed. That's just my opinion. The league is a fuckin' joke. WWF. Mac is right to treat it with such disdain, because it lacks the legitimacy of hockey. Even if the refs make goofy calls in hockey, you still have to put the puck in the net past a guy who is trying to stop you. Free Throws are much more direct of a scoring chance than a penalty shot, a 5-on-4 or a 5-on-3 situation.

You sure you want to go there after a match like game six in Miami? That was an unofficial Spurs win. They lost on the free throws you mentioned. If they hit one more FT in regulation they're champs. I think speculation on the legitimacy of the 2002 Lakers Kings series is reasonable, however.

You're Dan McNeill, perceived God of Chicago Sports Talk Radio, and you come back to site of your early greatness with a former underling. At some point, the underling wants equal billing and that takes place. The show that follows yours was pantsed on a monthly basis in the ratings (MJH vs. B and B). The supposed FOTS is a former fill-in on the Heavy Fuel Crew, and he has a different take on things.
How would anybody else feel?

hey I LIKE mac, I do, I'm just sayin that I don't think that satellite listeners want to hear AC/DC lyrics. They might want some sports content. Mac has admitted that he thinks people want more human interest shit, which, personally, I disagree with.
I get 15 minutes each 80 minutes to listen to the radio.

This is, in my opinion, why bigfan thinks M&H is a good show. All sports. interviews. None of the burning meat and bat outta hell talk.

I know I know but look at it in the perspective of the Score.
You got Bernsie who is a crusader against whites, babyrape and inequality which translates to interesting John Stossel segments not really into compelling sports radio. Then there's the AC/DC-Boat buyin-Allen brothers-gambling hours with a dose of a whiney ass bitchy bastard. Then the Lawwy Howwr and Hadder Wensdey.
Who is it talkin sports? Talkin to sports people? Not being completely obnoxious to their customers?
M&H.

I'm starting to agree that they might be the best of what the score is offering right now.

I can't compare them to 1000 cause I don't listen to that at all.

Well, then you're missing out. M&M and W&S have better shows than their counterpart.

Agreed. Mike and Mike are EASILY better than Mully and Hanley and it's not really close.

This is true.

They are easily better than M&H just on delivery alone.

So which is it, Mac? In your original post you made it sound like you would leave radio altogether. This last post makes it seem like you would be open to any shift other than 9-1.

Says the guy who hates football about the show that focuses it's greatest attention on football

I don't know what mike and mike centers their show around other than commercials and superficial discussions taken from sportscenter the night before. I consider them lightweights in whatever the cover but I guess someone has to be eating dominoes

Your Domino's analogy is extremely flawed because Yelly and Hanely are not good pizza.

Not even good when you're drunk

just bad

If M&M is Domino's, M&H is like a piece of sbarro pizza that's been in the dumpster for 3 days.
