Well not really dumbass... If you remember , Speigs was a producer for Terry and Mac in the HFC days so if anyhting Terry should be praising the great Dan Mcneill for hiring Terry's one time producer. I think Pants has thanked Terry publicly for getting him his current gig .

I've caught J-Goff a few times recently, once over the holidaze and he bumped this track--the entire track, for like no reason (might've been a fired coach or something like that):

Drinky

Your post didn't make it to the thread. That sometimes happens around 1:00 (for some reason)...

After reading this it seems Beardown was right. Mitch hates Drinky and Goff. Team Bernstein is hated and the leader of team Bernstein is a T.O. He isn't going out for his guys and using his juice at the station.

It is interesting to see the differences in the way Bernstein and Mac handle nurturing the careers of their production staff. Mac has always taken pride in understanding the career goals of his staff and helping to achieve. There is a Mac tree in the market. Bernstein takes a different approach.

As for Boers, I remember Dan telling the story of Terry telling him not to embrace his listeners. Luckily, Mac did not take that advice and actually made Terry much more of a man of the people. I think his pairing with Bernstein has allowed him to slide back into his much more familiar reclusive proclivities.

I understand Terry's position. When you get too close to your fans, those people who you embraced may just stab you in the back. However, Mac has shown how much richer and more fullfilling the job can be if you make relationships with those who admire you. It has also had an impact on his success. That is what the SCORE was.

I think Mac nurtures his staff because that was done with him. I could be wrong, but it seems Dahl took him under his wing, and gave him career advise more than Chet. Of course Coppock is a self-absorbed egomaniac, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Unfortunately I cannot respond as several of you would like me to. I don't feel comfortable talking about "station stuff" like Mac does.

I have never asked Bernsie to "go to bat for me". I would never do that nor expect him to. It's not his job. I have never asked anyone to do that for me. If Mac and Terry have felt that need, God bless 'em - and I appreciate it very much.

I have been the EP of the B&B Show for over 6 of their 10 years together. I love my job and feel very fortunate to wake up everyday and do what I do. I love and respect Dan and Terry very much.

I think Dan can be the best talk show host in the country if he so desired. He IS by far the best talk show host in Chicago. I most admire Dan for his homelife. He is a great father and has a wonderful relationship with his wife. I have some great memories of being on the road and traveling for work with Danny!!

Terry is an odd dude and I love him to death. He is 1 part friend, 1 part big brother, 1 part father figure, and 1 part encouragement to me professionally... he is great to work with on-air. When we did work together, he was always comfortable enough to let me take the lead despite his many years of experience.

Jason is the most knowledgeable guy at the Score.. he deserves every opportunity he gets and more!! I would love to have a chance to work with him again on the air. He's one of my closest friends in my life and I am grateful to work next to him everyday.

Some of the best times in my life have been spent with Terry, Dan, and Jason - mostly off-air : )

For those of you who hate me on-air, I'm sorry that I don't have the opportunites that I want to change your opinions.. and bite me!

For those of you who want me on the air, thank you.. I appreciate it very much.

As far as Mac not feeling bad for taking away my "on-air opportunities", I say "Fuck you Mac" : )
I am so happy to have Mac back where he belongs!! It's a joy to see him and have our shows transition everyday. Mac and I became friends down in Miami... Bears Super Bowl trip. He's a good friend and a valuable teammate!!

Thanks,
Matt

Drinky immediately responding to a Beardown post?

Yeah, didn't see that coming. What's next, Boers saying LaRussa is on his bus list???

but, see, that's what a good boss, let alone personal friend, would do without having to be asked

To hell with all of ya!

It's all good. The people who evaluate talent at the station have made their decisions. I don't agree with all of them and I'll bet on myself everytime. Don't need anyone to go "to bat" for me; I'm a grown man. There are opportunities that others have received that I could hang my head about, or I can try to do as entertaining a show as I can every chance I get.

No favors are done in business. When I make it to where I want to be it won't be because of a favor.

I appreciate the kind words and the not so kind ones. I'll keep finding ways to make it so that I don't need a guy to "hook me up". I appreciate Mac for everything he's done for me. I was his intern back in the old days and now he and Spiegs have given me a chance to talk to people who probably haven't heard me.

I'm gonna start talking in circles soon, so I'll say this; don't worry about sides. Listen to what you like and if you want more or less of it, let the powers that be know.

Like this weekend for instance; I'll have Marcus Robinson strapped to my back for four and a half fun filled hours.

Be well fellas!

Ya know, I don't think Bernstein wants to go to bat for anyone, nor should he. But he's done Goff a huge favor. He allows him to be a part of the B&B show. Jason gets to say a lot, whenever he wants to. A lot of hosts wouldn't allow their producers to do that. He's giving Jason exposure to a drive time audience. That's a huge favor.

He's not my boss. Also, let's not confuse what this posting was about. Let's not try and make Bernstein look bad for no reason...

Not technically but Bernstein is basically your boss. I gave Bernstein credit for allowing Goff to talk.
