Sincere wishes for your full recovery and hope you are able to return soon. I'm already getting bored with the DRIVE.

Mac,

Been lurking and creeping a very long time and just registered on the board to wish you well. I hope you appreciate it, because I'm drunk and it took me forever. We are kindred spirits, as we both have autistic children and I respect and understand what you go through with your son. Besides that, I think you are a douche and can hardly stand to listen to your arrogant ass, but I gotta do what I gotta do. Get well soon!

Okay ... you brought it up, you explain why.

I can see if you met him, or are good friends with him or something to that effect.

I mean I love me some Northy and Bernsie, hell even Aaron Rodgers, Taylor etc........ but they're not going to enter into my thoughts as I lay down at night.

Dear Lord, please pray for mom and dad, sister and brother, cousin Freddy, good friend and neighbor brenda, and oh ya, that guy on the radio too Danny Mac.

I mean most peoples family, friends, loved ones, etc...... got to amount to hundreds of people. Maybe your list is a little too long if you reach the point of the radio guy I listen to.

I've been going to mass every day during Lent. It provides a good amount of time for prayer. It doesn't take much to simply remember a person in crisis. I don't include every one of my loved ones every day. I try to include those that need it including people in far off countries who I have never met. There is a part of the mass strictly devoted to intentions.

However, I met Dan and he provided me some good food and drink. I have interacted with him on the board. I would and have remembered other people on the board before. It's not that difficult. I'd do the same for spanky after he gave me a sip of some cheap swill he found in the bushes after a winter thaw.

The logic of your statement isn't lost on me. Faith is absurd. I don't ask you to believe.

doug's just having fun and he knows I'll respond.

Organized religion leaves itself open to a lot of mocking and faith in a higher power is illogical. It cannot just be dismissed as a "you believe what you believe and I'll believe what I believe" sort of thing when it shapes the national debate in so many ways. It even affects on the local level with such mundane things as tax exemptions. If I was an atheist, I'd have every reason to be more vocal against the preference for religion shown by this country.

But seriously, who gives a fuck who prays for who? We have a board full of message board posters who are "keeping Mac in their thoughts" and "wishing Mac well!" and "hoping he gets well soon!"....what's the fucking difference between that and someone posting that they will "say a prayer for Mac"?

Pump the motherfucking brakes.

Would it be wrong to pray for a President or for a city hit with disaster? Or for your country?

Cant aruge with any of that.

Mabye because its sorta en vogue to rip it now.

There also seems to be a certain arrogance implying that anyone who has faith is dumb. That is crazy.

Bestowing upon oneself an aura of superiority through such actions can be quite intoxicating. Whether or not you've ever met the person that dares to have "faith" or not is immaterial.

Yep. It is a world of tolerance except if you claim to be a person of faith.

From GD in his "I'd pray for anyone" speech. Imagine what he'd do for me if I let him come over and watch my cable TV.

When its proven religion gets you closer to winning championships and a certain talk show host signs off on it, then opinions here will change as well.

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like Colon or Rectal Cancer, followed by treatment, and recovery.

Good luck Mac, and a speedy recovery.
