Everybody in the media makes it seem like Kobe is great because he won without Shaq. Pau and Odom are pretty decent players playing against a watered-down East. Plus the Magic choked just like the Nuggets (not like the Cavs would have done much better). Dwight Howard couldn't hit anything, Rafer wasn't much better and Jameer Nelson played like a fat and slow tool.

I thought this was the "score" not ESPN? I love how ESPN decided in 2-3 weeks that Kobe wasnt in LeBron's league anymore to now he's better than MJ. The audacity of their bullshit still surprises me somehow sometimes.

I can answer the "who is better" question with anothe question: Who has lost an NBA Finals? Once Jordan got to the top, nobody beat him. Kobe, on the other hand, has lost 2.

The Bulls were very fortunate to win the Finals in '93 and even more in '98. Without the no-call on Jordan, they would've played Game 7 in Utah with Scottie Pippen not nearly at 100%.

If Phil retired tomorrow the Lakers would still be the odds on favorite to win it all next year. Apparently Jordan couldn't win w/o Phil, either.

He may have been turning the ball over in the last 1.8 seconds but at least he was out there.

I also remember that Jordan was clearly not in tip top shape yet, as he had only played a portion of the season. I remember that he got himself into basketball shape, won 72 games the following season, and swept the Magic out of he playoffs.

I also remember that ball off the leg, and it was NOT the Finals.

Really, you remember that? I have a hard time believing you remember that. Because, if you really remembered that you would also remember that was the year MJ came back half way through the season and clearly wasn't in his best basketball shape througout his brief season and in the playoffs. All MJ proved that year is that even the greatest player of all time can't take a year and a half off and then hop back into the NBA halfway through a season and pick up like he never left. BTW, how'd he do the very next season after he had all off season and a full season of basketball? I seem to remember a dominating sweep of that same Orlando team.

In other words, you fail.

They were never in danger of losing in '93. Barkley even said after Game 2 he could tell noone on the Suns including him thought they would ever beat Jordan in a series.

The '98 team was clearly the most vulnerable but no way are they losing a Game 7 to the gutless Jazz. Karl Malone couldnt ever step his game up in the most important games of his career. Also that no-call is stupid to even bring up, no refs in their right mind would decide a game with a call like that. Especially considering that was when the league was better/smarter and the refs didnt feel the need to blow the whistle 76 times in a game and make sure the players never ever made contact with eachother

Shakes, this is not a real debate. These guys know me and they know I like to playfully diss Michael Jordan. Chill man. You're taking this way too seriously.

And in case you didn't understand what I just said, which is entirely possible given how stupid someone has to be to write what you wrote, I'm saying that you're a complete fucken moron.

Of course. I just wanted an excuse to mention Jordan's turnovers.

I assumed the Finals reference was just a typo on his part or that he forgot to write East in front of it, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on that and just go after him for the substance of what he was saying. Notice how I never gave him crap for saying it was in the Finals as opposed to ECF?

Didn't realize it was some big schtick you guys have here where everytime someone brings up MJ, Cairo responds with some unfunny joke. I guess I'll get used to that comic gold in the future.

I'm still trying to figure out what ALS means so I'm a little behind on all the inside jokes/sayings around here.
