I noticed this on Twitter the other night. Spiegel was there on a press pass, in the Joe Maddon pregame interview room. I wondered if other guys in there trying to do their actual job were annoyed by that. I don't see what need he would have to be there other than he thought it would be cool.

Sounds like he also got on the field after the game. Seems kind of bogus.

I'm in on the Score all day. Haven't listened much in a very long time.

Special privileges for the flagship. Now if Jules gets one, there should be a riot.

You've got the Cubs game on the Score.

I don't doubt there were plenty of dudes and some chicks there on special press passes.

I'm just picking on Spiegel.

They would have to reinforce the joists in the press box if Spiegel and Julie DiCaro both got in there.

Holmes was there too, I remember seeing him a couple times. Ahh, I don't mind a host doing work...whatever...

How about people sitting there with their 4 year old kids? Waste of a ticket.

Agreed. Should have to be 71 or over.

100 years from now, they'll be interviewing a 104 year old that was at Wrigley the last time the Cubs were in the WS.

Which would be one more time than your Vegas White Sox.

Saw him post pictures of himself on the field. I don't think he's covered a game all year, interviewed players in the clubhouse, anything that says a real member of the press. It is station privilege, but to show up at the big moment game only, that's typical of him and Goff (and bernstein..wait, the entire station actually)

A station that thought it was OK to laugh at a double amputee in Ron Santo now part of the Cubs. It really isn't right at all.

Sounds like Danny, saying he hated hockey many moons ago, and now being a big fan.

What's the baseball equivalent of a marsh peg? A rosin bag?

Spiegel just wanted to go to the game without paying the crazy price for a stub hub ticket. It really is that simple. It's not like he was interviewing people after the game for the SCORE.

Here's what I don't get. They have limited space there. I'm sure every media person in town wants a press pass. They have to say "No" to some people. Especially now in the World Series when tons of national media will be asking for passes.

I thought you were going to go in the direction of him taking up 2 seats...

How can I post a pic that isn't on the web but is something I Photoshopped and have saved on my computer?

Sorry for hijacking the thread. Thanks in advance.

In Spiegel's defense he has been to Cubs games throughout the season and taken "the Sandwich" to a few for some bonding moments. I don't see
anything wrong with using the station tickets or passes, anyone of us would be doing the same thing and the guy is a baseball fanatic.

That's where I was headed. If he and Big Fat Red get press passes, they'll take up a whole row. Plus all the old time writers will have to worry about being crummugeon shamed.
