Rozner in for Goff (out for a "personal situation", hope for the best), also breaking bad on FOTS. Spiegel and Rozner have spent this entire segment thoroughly debunking "TED. PHILLIPS. DOESN'T. MAKE. FOOTBALL. DECISIONS." mantra put forth by Bernstein. They've hit all the high points that nobody presses McCaskey apologiziers on: Ted Phillips on the Coach's Show, Ryan Pace saying in his first press conference that he reports to Ted, Ted and George taking Ernie Accorsi's advice and forcing John Fox on Ryan Pace, Phillips having a de facto say in the form of controlling money spending, etc. Rozner just now said: "If you ask anyone at Halas Hall, they will say 'of course [Ted Phillips] is involved.'...of course he has a say." Bad look for Bernsie and his "sources". |

He said something along the lines of what he did yesterday but framed it as a personal conversation where Phillips said he had no involvement. Didn't take much reading between the lines to determine they at least have an acquaintanceship. |

They'd be smart investing upwards of a billion dollars for things like their own stadium (i.e. control all the revenues) and hiring the absolute best front office with no cost spared. The value of the franchise would be just like what happened with the Cubs and Hawks after they won and become marketable. The old lady dies, and the family sells a majority stake in the team. The value of team would double, at least. Besides, you finance the stadium with debt and make the new owners assume the debt. |
