This was actually pretty funny. Guy calls in to bitch about them discussing the Bulls and not the Blackhawks. Says he has a million thoughts on the 'Hawks. Goff asks for one. He refuses and demands Goff give his thoughts, as it's "his job." Goff rightfully laid into the guy pretty well.

There isn't a radio show in this town that anyone in their right mind...you know what...it's a Score listener. They're definitely not in their right mind.

Anyway. No show in this town has tangible thoughts on hockey. And fuck "hockey insider Jay Zawaski" I don't give a flying fuck about what that talentless ginger bastard thinks just because he was hanging around the UC during the Tyler Aranson era. Bernstein only cares about hockey when Patrick Kane gets accused of something. The rest of the shows are hot garbage.

Thibodeau beating the Bulls at home is a bigger story than the Hawks winning.

Yeah. All of this is true. I watched more Bulls than Hawks yesterday. And the Bulls do have the bigger fan base.

Still, there has always been a racist undertone with Goff when it comes to hockey.

Both of them now going in on Mike Florio for daring to question The Great Richard Sherman on the physical downsides of playing Thursday NFL games on short rest.

Florio's point (though I heard it live and don't think he was advocating this point, merely bringing it up as an argument): You don't put on pads in short weeks, you essentially get 3 soft days leading up to the Thursday game, and then you get a prolonged break on the back-end. Also, you're multi-millionaire athletes, and the guys in the NHL (who make, comparatively, much, much less) play a game which is just as physically demanding and damaging as football, sometimes 4 times in a 7 day period, and don't complain about it.

Of course, both of them won't engage Florio's point about hockey (because they know he's right), but instead are just screaming "BUT THE PRODUCT!" over and over.

So you'll be doing 'Boyd Goes All Hockey' with Dr. Ken when?

What does Hockey have to do with the argument? Just because somebody else does it doesn't make it right.

And there's no such thing as "soft days" in the NFL, especially this late in the season. These guys are beat up beyond belief and there's no way in hell your body can recover from a game in three days.

OK, in a rejoin they cut up that call from earlier about the lack of Blackhawks Talk, and I think the guy kinda had a point, especially when his "I want to hear your thoughts on the game" is contrasted with both hosts admitting to not watching the game.

Now they are draping themselves in "our job is to be hosts, not report news", which is the exact opposite of the mantra they spouted when people didn't want to hear endless talk of rape and Patrick Kane.

See, it's fine that they don't talk hockey more than basketball. But is 15 minutes of Goff talking about an unflushed toilet more interesting than 15 minutes of hockey talk.

If they didn't watch the game, fine. They can bring in Zawaski to talk about it. Cuz you know he watches all of the games. He's the opposite of Goff. He hates basketball and loves hockey.

I would rather they talk about subjects they're passionate about, rather than talking about something for the sake of taking up airtime. It was like Spiegs calling out Danny Mac when they were discussing the Bulls. Mac said AC/DC and porn make him happy, so that's the route they went. I'm more likely to remember Mac's tale of rubbing one out to "Great Gig in the Sky" while driving than I am his thoughts on CJ Watson's 13-point effort against the Bucks.

Dr Ken wants listeners.

Dr Ken wants listeners.

He also craves acceptance from the hockey community ... in this season of warm tidings, won't you help him with his struggles?

Of course there are. They're not hitting each other in walkthroughs, which is all a short week is.

And there's the rub: it's not about recovering, it's about going out and doing the job--which, if you'll remember, is to play a game for the entertainment of others, not to be as well-rested as possible--because (1) you're a multi-millionaire "professional", (2) other players manage to do it, and (3) other athletes in sports approximately as brutal as football do it on a regular basis without saying "boo".

The suffering producer is a perfectly valid complaint to explore, however the "I'm sore, so we shouldn't do this" is a non-starter.

Doubtful. She's probably taking a pre-11:30 update nap.

And all of the white producers at the SCORE are trying to tape up that window as we speak.

Drinky has to find a way to convince Mitch that he's a minority. That he's so dumb that he should be considered as such.

Can't talk hockey but we need a full segment on baseball dressing up as ladies and the LBGT community. How big is that fan base?

Goff asking those upset with the MLB's new policy on hazing (specifically: dressing up rookies in drag) "why do you care?" Couldn't the same be asked of the people that are crying about its offensiveness?

It's great because when they were defending their lack of hockey talk, Goff and Spiegel referenced "the voice of the fan" view of the station...then in the next segment told those fans to shut up and feel the way progressive voices tell them to. Julie DiCaro is SO the next host on this station.

This dipshit historian they have on just said "I don't think there's a reason we can't see a woman playing second base or pitching in the major leagues." Julie just fainted.

Because as we all know, men and women are the exact same at performing any and every tasked that can be asked of them.

You obviously missed that 12 year old girl strike out a few pre-pubescent boys a couple years ago in the Little League World Series, pal

Goff verbally harassed/hazed Dan McNeil for years. What he did was the same as making people dress like women. Probably worse.

Haven't listened today.

Has Goff given any update on "Flushgate"?

It's simple Goff was the Scores NBA expert that brought America "Bumslayer" typically heard in knowledgeable NBA circles. If you want to talk Hawks find out when Zawaski's on he is the Scores hockey expert

The Score has had it out for the Blackhawks for years now, I don't know why anyone is remotely surprised. They have a very different relationship with that team than they do with all the rest.

Makes sense. There has to be some reason. I have been to cities with much less population that Chicago that have radio talk about hockey and a big fandom. Hell, I live in one.
