I mentioned this in a thread yesterday and the more I listen to Parkins solo the more he reminds me of a combination of Speigel (somewhat smarmy tone of voice) and Bernstein (overall attitude).

Anyone else get the same impression?

Who is the producer of this show? It seems like he's chiming and/or has been encouraged to take a more active role in the show. Or is he like that when Speigel is there and I just haven't listened enough to know? He also invited Julie to chime in on legal issues ( :roll: ). Is this a peek at what the show will be if Speigel is not retained when his contract is up?

I liked what I have heard from him but I'm not listening this week since it's impossible to do good radio as a solo host. He'll be better when he's not paired with the worst chicago sports radio talker of my lifetime.

So far I think he's OK. Hopefully he doesn't go full Speigel or full Bernstein.

I have to change the station as soon as they go to an update. Julie's voice is so shrill -- knowing what a shitty person she is doesn't compel me to listen, either.

This guy sucks. Who cares about Charles Oakley and who he beat up or can still beat up? Is this ESPN national radio? The Bulls and the Hawks both played last night. The Bears have raised ticket prices. You actually have local things to talk about. The purported Chicago Boy would be better down the dial.

What the fuck was that? So, it's funny when the black man pushes people around but not funny when he gets arrested? And 7 security guards is not excessive. Dude is 6'8" 250 lbs. The job of security or police is not to lose against an active resistor. Then you get Julie in there for her whacky race baiting opinion. This is fucking stupid. I'm done with this.

I heard him talking to a caller about the first part of what you said but did not hear Julie chime in. I assume she thought it was "troubling" or "problematic." I'll follow the Julie thread to see people tear her apart but I'm not up for actually listening to her.

Agreed, Danny played dumb after her update( she called Dwayne Wade ~ Wayne Raid) so he asks her to mic up and plays dumb about the trespassing charge on Oakley to get her legal opinion :lol:

He went quietly....I'm pretty sure Oak could have murdered all 7 of those guys if he wanted. He's still a very large, impressive black man.

Let's hope not. Full Spiegel would be most terrifying (after DiCaro). Hopefully he can maintain that awkward but generally likeable combo of Dannnnn MaaaaaNEIL and Bernstein persona.
